Approve of the name.
No way JVR gets signed to 7.5 mill, that’s rediculous, other trades aren’t bad
I’m sure Rask gets more than a late 2nd though, maybe not a first, but 2nd, 3rd B prospect

When in doubt, stack the defence. Ottawa would be weak in the Center, but would be stacked elsewhere. I think they take it.

He always overvalues his players so ignore him this is a decent trade plus duchene only has a year left its not bad at all

Yeah went a little overkill on JVR just to be safe. Rask for a late second is generous given his contract.

That would be a solid offseason for the Canes. I think Ottawa would be interested in Faulk, too.

I'm a canes fan and personally I'd have Svechnikov and Faulk over Duchene and Brady Tkachuk but that's just me

Its not a bad trade value-wise but now Ottawa has no #1 C and no #2 C I dont think Ottawa does this.

Yeah I’d want Svech but we need a 1C and big bodies and that’s what Duchene and Tkachuk are

I think JVR ideally signs for 6.5 mill on the open market. Rask isn’t getting substantially overpaid, maybe by a mill, he’s a fringe 2nd line Center. He’s still a young, I think he gets more than a mid 2nd but not a lot more, that’s just my opinion.

If Aho plays next season as a centre between Skinner and Tuevo, which it looks like he's gonna, I still want Svechnikov and Faulk. The only glaring hole is in net. Why add up front when your goaltenders can't stop a bus? If it's Faulk and the second for a startiing goaltender but Duchene has been a bust in Ottawa, he was bad in Colorado the past few seasons and I just think he's gonna be bad in Carolina. We need a goalie and we need goals. Svech brings a ceiling of a 50 goal scorer. Duchene brings problems and Tkachuk brings a rivalry with Calgary. I still take Svech and Faulk but I'm not an NHL GM. What do you think?

Unfortnately there aren’t a lot of goalie options. Hutton had a great year last year so I gave him a low risk contract. The canes as they are are way too small. We have enough scorers (Aho, Teuvo, Skinner, etc.) so I think we should pass on Svech and take a power forward to make the team more complete.

Zykovis a big body. So's svech and JvR if they sign him likes it's been roumered. Staal and Rask aren't short and Martinooks over 6 ft. There is height in this team. IMO They don't need Brady Tkachuk or Matthew Duchene . They just don't benefit in any way
