I think Nino and our 1st next year is a lot for Kessel. Sure he's a good player but he's 30 and with our new GM being so good at evaluating talent I'd like to see what he could do with a 1st. Instead what about Nino and our 3rd from Buffalo (63 OA) along with a D prospect like Olofsson or Murphy? Not sure if that's enough value for PIT though, might have to throw in a 5th or something too.

I think Brodin for Chucky straight up is interesting, I've thought about that one myself previously and I think we could probably get a little more from MTL since Brodin is on a great value contract (he could play top pairing minutes).

Not sure how to feel about CGY trade, I like Spurgeon a lot but we are getting a lot back with two grade A prospects. Hamilton definitely replaces Spurgeon nicely. I think giving up a 2018 1st and 3rd along with our 2nd next year is a lot. You might be able to get those two for Spurgeon and our first this year alone.

I don't know a lot about Leivo and Martin but I like Kapanen a lot, could be another interesting trade. We'd get a lot of prospects back.

Overall I like that you've filled the holes made by each trade, I think it could be a solid roster and we'd have some nice prospects but our draft pick cupboard is pretty bare.

That Flames trade is highway robbery for MN.

3 straight years of no 1st or 2nd rounders would be brutal for the farm system. It creates a huge dead zone in the pipeline that is already pretty weak.

no way Cgy does this trade - makes very little sense and adresses none of our needs

What are Calgary's needs? Like what would it take for you to move Hamilton? I think if the Wild traded Dumba (which is a very real possibility) to someone other than Calgary, we could look at someone like Hamilton or Faulk in Carolina to replace him and I'm curious about Hamilton value

@flamesfan419, maybe we should've done this trade before you shipped off Hamilton? smile

Only issue I see is trading Tkachuk. Just won't happen.
