Going to need to add more than a young prospect, a very late 1st, and a 2nd and 3rd imo

I'm confused. The title clearly says, "get the right Karlsson," and then there's no mention of William.

Plus for some reason you've let John Carlson walk, which is totally unrelated, because he actually plays defense. Erik Karlsson might get more ppg than JC, but he took a little over 5% more shifts starting in the offensive zone this year and wound up worse by -25. So the other team gets a lot more ppg off EK, too.

I wouldn't trade Vrana for him, straight up.

I'm not big on plus/minus for comparing players on different teams...Ottawa was a bad team with average (maybe even below average tending, I dont care to look it up)...Washington was not...you let Carlson walk to free up cap space to make a big splash...he'll be good for the next 3-4 years, but the last 3-4 years of a long term contract for him are going to be brutal...already slow skater, he'll just get slower

You may be right..if it came to a bidding war and I was WSH, I'd up the 2018 pick to a 2nd and make the 2019 a conditional 1st --1st, 2nd, 1st ('19) + Vrana (1st in 2014)

Carlson is two years older than Karlsson, didn't miss any big chunk of last season with a foot injury, and didn't come back with the defensive acumen of a faceoff dot.

Karlsson is rumored to want 10M a year for 8 years, starting a year later, so he'll be only one year younger, but 2M more expensive throughout the length of the salary brutality.

Pass.

Uh oh. We might have to work on a sarcasm font. But when you play every game of the playoffs and most of a regular season, and win a Cup, you are no longer a prospect. Vrana is the Caps' fastest skater. They're not swapping him for someone old, slow, and injured who still hasn't figure out he's a wing.

Damn someone is a little salty. Relax, the kid played 1 season. Stop acting like the kid played for multiple years. I dont get why you're making a big deal cause I called him a young prospect lmao

Prospect originally means possibility, like as in, someone who might become a hockey player. If we're just using it for everybody young, then Vrana outscored fellow prospects Hall, Schultz, Miller, Dumoulin, Landeskog, Nash, Kane, Marleau, and MacKinnon in this year's playoffs. http://www.nhl.com/stats/player?reportType=season&seasonFrom=20172018&seasonTo=20172018&gameType=3&filter=gamesPlayed,gte,1&sort=points,goals,assists

Okay... maaaaaybe he had a couple more games. But I'm not sure he played more total minutes than half those guys.

You're blowing this way out of proportion and trying to cause an argument lmao. And your comparison is terrible. Vrana played less than 100 career regular season games, unlike the others. Dont know why you're so offended over thistears of joy tears of joy

Here. Playoff points per 60 minutes, Vrana was better in the playoffs than Tyson Barrie, Jacub Voracek, Seth Jones, Brent Burns, Erik Haula, Rick Nash, Carl Hagelin, Nick Bonino, Wayne Simmonds, Erik Staal.....

I think that means he can play in the NHL.... even if he's nowhere close to Nate Walker. wink

You can probably just google "Vrana highlights" and there should be like a 5 or 10 min video because he's a prospect right now. And while you're at it, probably order some tissues to wipe your tears about me calling vrana a prospect

Never called him a prospect and most prospects don’t play in the top 6 in the cup finals. So dumb. They are normal ahl or play less than 20-30 games nhl. Please at least know the player before you comment c calling him a prospect looked so stupid
