Looks pretty good for the trades, although I do think maybe a bit more needs to be returned on the Carolina trade, especially with how many young forwards they have in their system. Faulk, Skinner, McKeown, Foegele to me seems ok. I'd rather have a prospect after seeing their pro transition than a pick.

Trades look fair to me. Ottawa might want a d prospect instead of Faulk but other then that looks good!

In theory it makes sense, but I have a couple issues with it:
1) Skinner has a full NMC, which means he can choose where he wants to go. Why would he want to go to Ottawa, a team looking to start over?
2) I think the Karlsson deal is not what Ottawa should be looking for. Even if Skinner waives, he, like Karlsson, only has one year left. There is no security. Faulk only has two years. I think Ottawa should trade Karlsson, but asks for picks and prospects; I think they are better off not taking a chance on these veterans resigning.

I like the Hoffman trade a lot but the Karlsson one is kinda meh.

Jeff Skinner is a ufa next season and Faulk is a ufa in 2 seasons. Neither player really makes sense for Ottawa. I think one of Hanafin or Pesce would likely need to be coming back.

True, but I figured that maybe ottawa wants to take their time and choose a prospect. But Carolina does have a lot of them and they would make a good addition to the trade.

Neither of them is going anywhere. Ottawa needs to get rid of Karlsson, he's really had it with the whole organisation. He doesn't get along with the owner either. Hanifin would be overpaying.

Yea, no. That's not gonna be the return for Karlsson anymore. Everyone knows he wants out, the longer Ottawa waits, the worse it gets.
