Whats the point of adding Moulson. Buffalo will have a ton of cap room and MTL would be pushing the ceiling. that doesnt make much sense

That would be good for us, but it's unlikely Moulson will be in the deal, most likely Montreal will ask for an LHD,, Scandella, McCabe or Guhle instead.

Five stars for wanting O'Reilly.
The 3rd Over All is close to O'Reilly's value.
Pacioretty is close to O'Reilly's value.
The 32nd over all and taking Moulson does not sufficiently close the gap

That's got to be one of the worst trade scenarios I've seen from a legitimate source. In what world does MTL need to take Moulson on top off all this? The 3rd alone should net you ROR, adding Pacioretty is overkill in itself and Moulson being thrown in there shows a lack of capology on Marek's part. ... No team is taking on 8M+ in cap in a trade where they are also losing the highest valued asset. That makes no sense.

this sounds exactly like what would be said before every one of bergevin's trades. on paper, it seems ridiculous. montreal ownership simply can't embrace a rebuild. they should have fired bergevin and started over with the 3rd pick as a cornerstone going forward with a new regime. instead, it's a trade chip for a guy with and aging core that's his fault (weber, price) who needs to make the playoffs this year to keep his job. so even though it looks bad on paper (no one is taking moulson's contract), something like this could happen.

Thanks my thinking too but I'm mostly posting this just so I could be discussed. To me it doesn't make any sense at all but man if this was the final deal how isn't Bergervin not immediately fired?
