Bowman you suck!

Description
Do the Hawks have enough young defensive prospects yet? Bowman, you passed on Wahlstrom, then Joe Valeno....we need forwards. Now we have our closest NHL prospects (Jokiharju, Mitchell, Hillman, and Boqvist) all competing for a spots on D and 3 of 4 on the right... and look at the depth of guys that should make the NHL...WTF!

Nothing...NOTHING up front.

Hawks better get some forwards or we are screwed if Toews and Saad crap the bed again this year.

I was surprised that he took another D and Id rather take a center like Veleno, Mcleod, or Thomas but Beaudin is still good and Boqvist is a stud. You can bet that the rest of the picks will be forwards and hopefully a couple goalies.

How do you pass on Walhstrom? I think he, Zadina, Svechnikov and Takchuk were all pretty even in talent with Svec maybe being very slightly better then the others. Hawks have plenty of D prospects but nothing really up front.

I wanted Wahlstrom too. I 100% agree with you. I have no clue what's going on. He's SERIOUSLY close to losing Chad Krys and now I think closer to losing Ian Mitchell...for NOTHING. Which is a huge shame. NCAA players will 110% go kevin hayes on you. Because who could blame them. I would if I was them. I'm just really disappointed. For the record though. I didn't want Veleno.

***EDIT*** I will say. This to me does indicate very clearly that Bowman will be a seller at the TDL. Oesterle and Rutta will be gone for ~2nd round picks in next years draft.

I thought we might pick him up too. But keep in mind Boqvist was projected to be the #4 pick and we got him. Wahlstrom went around where he was supposed to. I agree on our d, I think Bowman will make the forward picks tomorrow.

Problem is we have no 2nd round picks and two 3rd round picks which will be ready for the show in what....2 or 3 years? In the meantime we have a questionable Saad, Kane, Cat who hopefully he continues, Schmaltz who hopefully he continues and sikura which we don't know yet. We literally have very little left. Hino, Edjsell, Kampf, Hayden...these are nothing more then 4th liners maybe Hino is a 3rd liner. We have nothing in the prospect pool to talk about up front. If we don't get JVR, or a surprise like Tuevo back....we're in trouble.

We have pieces that are worth seconds Duclair, Anismov, and Murphy. The second day of the draft hasnt even started just be patient, if Bowman makes the rest of the picks defense then I'd get worried but right now I'm happy with Boq. While the hawks had a down year, im not as worried about our offense or defense if we have no one in net. Im faaaaar more worried about the condition of crawford then I am of someone like Kane who is good for 80 points. JVR would be a nice addition but I dont want Teuvo back, kid was too soft, any contact and he lost the puck.

I'm sure this is just a me thing, but I also have serious doubts about this whole (2) puck moving Dmen in 2018 while you also draft the same type player the past 2 years (Mitchell Krys)... That position is already going to be so over drafted that you'll be able to get these dmen pretty easily. Just on an overall level.

Crawford will be fine. I heard from a indirect source who hangs with him, he had brain trauma but that led to addressing a substance abuse problem.

I really hope youre right about crawford... dont know if I could deal with another season of Goalie roulette.

This guy said he went to rehab out of state in Feb/March timeframe which makes sense why he would miss the rest of the season.

I agree with your description, as well as pretty much everyone else. I don't know how you pass on Wahlstrom at 8. The kid's shot is ridiculous, and the hawks forward prospects are absolutely atrocious. Yes, Boqvist is the next Karlsson, great. Then at 27, you could snag Veleno, but no. Another defenseman. The hawks have more defensive prospects than forward prospects!!! And you need twice as many forwards than defensemen to make a proper line up!!! It's honestly mind boggling.

The rest of the picks could very well be a forwards, but they aren't high caliber. The elite shot that Wahlstrom can't be signed via free agency or traded for that often/easy. Hopefully Boqvist develops quickly. He's probably not NHL ready and when he is Kane/Toews will be 32-34.
