Add 2 1sts to Kadri and CBJ might contemplate it. You might even have to throw in Liljegren as well.

Leaf fans overvalue their players more than anyone in the league. Surprised it's not Jones, Panarin and a 1st ... Kadri as your #1? come on man

Kadri played the first line a lot last season because of Matthews' health and looked dominant, you're undervaluing a very skilled player who scored 30+ goals while at the same time not scoring at all in a two-month span, if he continued to score in those months he may have had 40+ goals. Yes, Seth Jones is elite but so is Kadri, adding 2 firsts and the top leafs prospect is flat out terrible and a very one-sided trade.

Kadri is not elite. If he was, Toronto would not have spent 11 mill on Tavares. He is a good 3C, a 2C on some teams. As a Jets fan, I can compare him to Little, who is a good two way center that has played in the 1C role a bit. Great at a 3C.

Did you just say Kadri is elite? You just lost all credibility.

Okay yes leafs fans seem to overrate him but he is more of a great 2nd line centre on a lot of teams. He puts up good offensive numbers and is becoming more defensively reliable. As I do not think a Jones Kadri one for one trade is even remotely close I do think Kadri is a good 2nd line centre.

As for the trade, Jones last year was a top 5 dman and he proved placing forth in the Norris votes. If the leafs were to offer that trade above it would have to be: Kadri, Liljegren, a first for Jones and a 3rd. That still probably isn’t enough for the trade to happen.

As a leafs fan , you'd have to add big time on Jones. He is gonig to be a top 5 D in the leageu in the next couple seasons. I would say Kadri, Lijgren and a 1st for Jones and another prospect would be reasoonable

I think the only way Seth Jones leaves Columbus is via free agency or a trade that will net them a nice futures package. The problem with valuing elite defenders is that there will never really be a fair comparison unless they are being traded for an elite start of the same or different position. Meaning, although Kadri has great value to most teams for quite and even perhaps top pairing defenseman (like a Dumba, Manson, etc.), Jones is elite for his class, his position, not just elite for his team. When Jones was traded for Johanson, it was a hockey-swap of young talented players that each needed a new opportunity. Fast-forward a few years and Jones is basically an annual top-5 Norris Trophy vote-getter. Being completely unbiased here, I would say Jones value, in return, one-for-one with a Leaf would either be Matthews or Marner. Fair to say it's not happening.

Pretty sure you could say that about any guy in the league. "if" he scored more he would have got 100 points ... I also can't believe you said a 50-60 point guy is Elite. What team would he be a #1 C?
