Toronto will have to give up its best RD prospect(liligren), a few top picks/prospects and Nylander. This will not be worth it for Toronto.

Florida has enough forwards. They are worse on the backend and take a major hit if you remove Ekblad from the equation. For Nylander to be the sole desirable piece coming back is not enticing enough to FLA. The rest of the pieces are really minor toss-ins.

Ekblad is almost as untouchable as McDavid. If you wanted to try and pull him away start with Matthews...That face you just made when you read that statement means forget about it, it's not going to happen.

Ekblad is one of the guys where the price will be insane, but he won't necessarily be worth it. He's had a bunch of concussions and his best year was his rookie year. I'd stay away.

I don't know why folks think "depth" mean NHL good. Marincin? C'mon, Sparks...I like him but Florida has enough money tied up in two goalies, Gardiner's a UFA next year
Now a trade around Nylander for Ekblad, that would you're really talking about. Personally I would prefer to trade Nylander at some time...like next summer, and sign a UFA like Ellis, instead of kinda of lateral trade.

It would have to start with either Marner or Nylander and would also include Kapanen plus top picks. Like most have been sayin as close to untouchable as you can get. Would definitely have to overpay for him
