Perry still scores one or two goals a year more than Okposo, but he's 2M more expensive and 3 years older. Adding a 1st and a prospect gets them interested.

okpo would be costing 3.5m$. but who really thinks ana can keep Kase, Ritchie, Silfverberg, Montour and Gibson for less then 14m$ end of next year. 20m$ for sure they can.

obv its a silly trade but does it make sense to do is a different argument all together. look at ana s cap situation and players they need to sign by end of next year, they are in dire need of cap space and perry is taking brunt of blame.

i think the rasmus d pair togeather will be surprisingly good.
ana isnt going to trade a good contract away its a true salary dump with an ok top 6 guy going back at great price.

okpo isnt going to fetch a 1st and a prospect back on his own and;
perry is pretty much done as a valuable player trade wise, still good on ice but not 8.6m$ good

The only way to get Manson from them would be
IF they were willing to move him bc they have other young guys coming up
and
IF we took Perry off their hands
and
IF they wanted all that Cap space for a reason (Karlsson?)
and
IF we gave them something of value, not Okposo

But that’s a lot of “ifs” too

I’m just saying,
if we take a contract like Perry (or Bobby Ryan, etc)...
then it’s gotta be to get a SPECIFIC player that Botts values & sees becoming a “core” member
