NYR have no reason to give up Beleskey as cap dump since they have plenty of cap space already, and Hayes is worth at least a mid round 1st which your package don't provide in value

Juulsen alone is worth a late first imo.

very late first in that case, package still not more or equal to a mid round 1st which is my starter point for Hayes

Well considering that hayes would then become the habs most complete forward, why are the rangers then giving the habs a 2nd rounder on top of that? If your argument is about dumping belesky... we woul just keep him, no need for cap relief. Juulsen is a good prospect but completely unproven. He could never play a single game in the nhl. Hayes is a proven 2nd line center with 1st line upside, is a complete 200 ft player and is still young.

Easy pass on this. I think Rangers fans over value Hayes, he is a 26 year old center who has never broken 50 points. I know he is a good two way center but he is a decent 2C, maybe has a couple seasons around 55-60 points but that’s with the right wingers and with a 1C ahead of him.

He won’t be a 1C in this league and Montreal giving up Pacioretty (a true first line player) and Juulsen (a prospect that handled top 4 minutes the second half of last year at 20) for him and a first round pick is a loss for them IMO.

laugh How is Noah Juulsen not able to play a single game in the NHL when he's already played 23? You're also way overvaluing Hayes.

Montreal says no in all 3 trades IMO

CHI - Pacioretty with an extension is worth way more than a 1st and 2 ok prospects.
DAL - Byron as a rental is worth at least a 2nd+ (see Grabner, whom Byron is definitely better than).
NYR - Belesky and the 2nd cancel eachother out and Juulsen ihas more value than Hayes IMO.

The fact that he hasn't played with the right wingers and still put up the numbers he has while playing the 2 way role is what I'm talking about just look at the data...p1_.jpg
The relative corsi data shows that he is in line with these other top players

As a fan of neither team,,,,,,,, this just sounds ridiculous

how is clearing 1.9 mil in cap worth a 2nd rd pick to a team with 19 MILLION IN CAP SPACE............

Everyone has played for 1 or 2 teams, then there's just Vanek with 5.

NYR laugh. Chi is not taking on a cap dump and a future cap hell contract. MTL would accept all day long. Juulsen over Hayes lol...

Not really. He is a first round pick who played well enough for 23 games last season that you would consider him valuable on any team. He is only 21 and showing he can handle top 4 minutes, I would say that’s a good prospect to have.

Plus in this trade he isn’t the main piece we’re giving up that makes Hayes over valued.
