I agree but I'd rather undervalue than overvalue.

I'd be pretty sour if I were McNiven looking at this.. otherwise I like it.

I think Hudon is widely undervalued to be honest. He was a killer player in Juniors and Team Canada. I think this kid just needs a chance on a consistent top line and we're gonna see him flourish.

Last year he got 30 points 10G 20A being tossed around the lineup like a hacky sack. I can see him being a 20G 20A type of guy and it may be worth trying him at C, his actual natural position growing up

Totally agree, I would have compare Hudon to a more offensive player than DSP

It depends on how you view Smith-Pelly. Some people see him as a 2nd-3rd line player while others see him as a 3rd-4th line player. I think that Hudon may not get better than the 2nd or 3rd line.

Its pretty hard to gauge this early but a good handful of them are really off in the player style comparable though......... So Im kind of confused what you're getting at here? Like comparable only in the sense of how many points they could score? Frankly even then some of these are off and not even close. Hudon = Smith Pelly??? They are polar opposites and Hudon has already outproduced Smith Pelly in a his rookie season.....

Kotkeniemi = Barkov? Kots hasn't even played a shift in the NHL yet.
Potential? Yes, but way to early to make this comparison.

CBJ has similar comparable in Dubois. He was not highly touted, and CBJ reached for him over Puljujaarvi (since we couldn't trade up for Laine).
Dubois has had 1 full year at 1C position, and handled himself very well.
This 2nd year will be a true determining factor, as he could continue to progress or have a "sophomore slump".
It should be interesting to see how he develops in year 2.

I wish you luck with Kots. Hopefully he is the true 1C that you have been searching for, and not a Gilbert Brule.

Best of luck to you with PLD. He may even be you're number one center next year. Also, I hope you guys can work out something to keep Bob and/or Panarin.

The Smith-Pelly one, I will admit was a bit of an understatement. I was trying to get at the skill level that they could reach nothing to do with style.
