i mean like yeah when you trade every half decent player not on an elc then it looks pretty grim

I doubt LAK gives up that much for Nelson.

Still, I kinda hope this happens. 2019 looks like a strong draft year. Take Hughes or Byram or Podkolzin plus another 3 first rounders and we’re set for the future.

An attempted tank like that would do absolutely nothing for their organization EXCEPT give them a 20% chance, or less (most likely), at drafting Jack Hughes and even that's a risk, since I would agree with others that have already mentioned this in that Ottawa is still going to be a worse team anyway. Yes, the Islanders did draft exceptionally well in 2018, and yes, the 2019 draft class is deep, but all those players, for the most part, will still some time to develop. I'd like to see the Islanders make an attempted effort at finding a legitimate starting goalie. Then maybe some of their problems can start turning around.

Also probably better than Montreal as well (depending on Price/Weber injury status).
