Hate the Bruins but I wouldn't mind seeing how that 3rd line does. Should be interesting.

Play him.. but over who? Krug is not going to be moved and Grzelcyk has get the spot from last season. Maybe Moore and Grzelcyk are going to battle for the 3LHD spot..

Exactly. Donato is fast and skilled playmaker, JFK swiss army and Backes can still score and hit..

First, I'm curious as to how you know krug is not going to be moved....do you know cam and sweeney? Know Krug? Know the other 30 GMs? I think it's still very possible that he gets moved.

Moore played right side some the last couple years, throw him on the 3rd pair RD

I dont know any of them its just my opinion and feeling that he doesnt get moved unless big piece is coming back.. but I might be wrong. Just stating how I feel about it.

And we would see how D pairings would pan out. Im curious to say least.

Bjork needs one more year in AHL before jumping in. And he would go below Pasta.
He plays top 4 over who?

Here is a small snippet of an interview Cassidy did with the Boston Globe:

"Bergy and Marsh [Brad Marchand], what if we moved Pasta [David Pastrnak] down and tried Bjork back up there? We did that last year...Krech [David Krejci] and DeBrusk have good chemistry, and I’d imagine Pasta would. It would be exciting for him. I have seen them play together, so that’s more about as the year goes on, what’s better suited for us to win hockey games against the more balanced teams. Is it those guys being together as a trio or is it better split up? I think we’ll do both throughout the year...Our intention last year was to split them up, give us better balance. The injuries kind of threw everything out of whack, and they just kind of slotted in as we went, we just left it alone."

Won't be shocked if Krug ends up slotting in as the #3LD when all is said and done. Amazing offensive player, but doesn't have the defensively ability to match up against top 6 forwards. Krug also holds Carlo back from really playing a more two-way game and last year was proof. Carlo brought next to no offense to the team compared to his rookie year and saw his production drop by 62% while playing with Krug. Moving Krug to #3LD allows him to face lesser talented opponents on both ends of the ice and that should help him all around. Miller/McQuaid also are better suited playing that traditional stay at home defender, which is what Krug needs.

Lets be honest, when the game is winding down and the team is protecting a led, you're not calling Krug to go out there and shutdown the other team. Instead your calling Moore's number to do the job. On the flip side if you're down a goal in the winding minutes, you're probably calling on Krug to get the job done.

That pretty much explains why Krug isn't getting moved. He's a player you have to hide on the ice aka offensive zone starts. Who you don't want to match up against hard lines aka bottom pairing. And then you got to pay him 5+ million a year. Good luck with that. No one wants that. If you are going to pay a Blue liner 5 mil a year they better be at least capable of playing 2nd pairing minutes. Krug isn't. No one is going out of there way looking for that kind of player, and not without boston talking like 50% of the cap hit and getting virtually nothing in return.
