Why spend a couple assets to get Duchene, when that money could be put towards Wheeler who is a much better player?

Make it Vesalainen, a cap dump you want to get rid of and a 1st. That would be a better deal

Connor isn't signing that cheap fo so long. stop the belief that trouba is going to sign long term with the jets, especially at that price. canes aren't trading a young nhl dman for two non milers

No way Trouba signs for what he's making now, You want to keep Trouba you're easily looking at $7 million to $7.5 million per for 7 or 8 years.

I agree, I don't really understand why I'm hearing so much from Winnipeg about letting Wheeler walk at free agency, especially if you were to looking to bring in other cap to replace him. The guy is a beast and a workhorse and proved this year amidst injuries that he can play center. At the very least trade him at the deadline to a contender, regardless, any team would be lucky to have him as an impact player and mentor for young guys (looking at you Arizona and Carolina).
