Listen I know some of these aren't good, maybe none of them make sense but some of them did in my head. I know not everyone needs Pacioretty either but I had some time to waste and I'm probably wrong in so many places but I gave it a shot. Pretty much every trade here is for a prospect + picks, yet with Edmonton you want their #1 defenseman who is young and signed to a sweetheart deal AND 3 middle-round picks.

You can disregard that rumour then. No way you're getting Klefbom + picks for Patches - even a 1-for-1 isn't going to happen in a million years.

ok Bear for Patches straight up... lol I know I know ain't happening either. Honestly I always thought a Pacioretty+ for RNH makes perfect sense for both teams

I really like the EDM because it's a massive overpayment.. I currently see Klefbom as a #2 kind of defensemen with a stellar contract.. Doubt Chiarelli would do that, but you never know lol

I think you don't get how valuable the prospect you took from the sens and the Jets are. Gustavsson is one of the better goalie prospects in the league and Sami Niku is almost NHL ready and could be a number 1 LD. As a result, both hang up on you

I do know exactly who they are... and you realize that Pacioretty is an NHL proven 30 goal scorer and they're most likely going to be horrible this year and that 2nd overall pick will be a high one. I could give them a first but it would be protected. As far the Gustavsson trade.. yes he is.. but how many really good young goalies do you know?

Ottawa needs a new goalie soon and the Jets need NHL ready talent for cheap, and he projects to be very very good. I'm a leafs fan so I'll rationalise in terms of a leafs prospect.

The Jets trade would be the equivalent of Travis Dermott last year and some picks for patches, which everyone says no to.
The sens trade is like Calvin Pickard 5 years ago and picks for patches.

Maybe these guys bust out, maybe they don't, but as of today, they say no.

If it helps the leafs one seems pretty good.

I was trying to base the trades around the Skinner trade as it seems to be the popular thought that a Pacioretty trade would be similar. Habs might as well be in a full blown rebuild and I was looking for right side OF and DF which is where the Habs pretty much need the most help. I mean Im not thrilled with the Center situation either but might as well use what they have for now and try and plug some of the other holes in the lineup which to me is the right side. I know I didnt do that with every trade but some teams are having the same problem as the Habs.. so not much to choose from.
