Rebuild option - BlOcKbUsTeR

Created by: MTLaveragefan
Team: 2018-19 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: Sep. 8, 2018
Published: Sep. 8, 2018
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Main idea: trade Price and Weber

PHI trade:
the flyers finally get great goaltending while their core is good, habs, in return, get a promising G that will be ready at the end of their rebuild.

Don't talk about Price's contract, I've retained 2M

patch and Simmonds, is just a way for the habs to create space of the LW for their rookies

DAL trade: I could be any team

BUF trade: The goal is to trade Weber for lots of picks, it could be any team, but Buf does have a full bank of prospect and plenty of picks to spare,

adding Weber (with money retained) to BUF defense will make it one of the best D in the league! with 3 top 2 dman.

Between Reinhart and Mittestasd, I would rather take the first one, just to reunite him with Domi, to get that WJC magic.

Weber is still a star defensemen, he was still voted by the NLHPA as the most difficult D to play against, he will play till he is 40, and any GM and coach would kill to have him on their team

Let's see, Shea Weber. A few serviceable years back, off and on IR, at an expensive cap hit, doesn't fit the core of the sabres. For one of the best prospects in the NHL that will be a great 2c for the sabres for years, THREE first round picks, and a semi cap dump (3.9 mil for one more year buried on a different ahl team). Absolutely terrible deal for Buffalo.

Any player in the league would disagree, he is not as flashy as Subban or Karlsson, but he is still a great defenseman, if not one of the best, in the league.

Its actually two 1st round pick (we give one back),

Weber will play t'ill he is 40 like Chara, He has one bad year on IR (the same year the team decided to tank), 7M (minus 500K retained) is getting cheap for an elite Dman, then send us another prospect than Mittlestasdt

one of the best defensively, would skate up and down the ice like Karlsson, but will stop any player coming his way, will move anybody in front of the net, will win his battle against the board, has a tunderous shot, makes great first pass, blocks shots,

all that at a very high level

7 mil we could save and spend somewhere else. He's too old for the sabres. He will more than likely not be 100% healthy ever again. We already have one dman that can't stay healthy. The sabres first round could be lottery. I'm not sending Montreal any prospect for anyone on their team.
