i just made a mock saying the same thing, so mind boggled by this move. Theres gotta be a bigger splash coming, don't see Bruins leaving 5 mil in space when McQuaid was coming off the books either way at the end of this season

Not saying there isn't something else coming, but the move by itself makes perfect sense. They weren't going to go into the season with 8 Dmen. They now have 7. Kampfer will be in AHL. He played 2/3rds in AHL last year. Depth Dman with NHL experience if/when injuries come.

Not really a mind boggling move. We had 8 d-men on the roster and McQuaid was the odd man out. His run with Boston was over after this season and with kids like Zboril & Lauzon who can play both LD/RD, it just made sense to move him. Honestly a 4th + conditional 7th is pretty good value.

maybe mind boggling was the wrong word choice, it was more a sudden surprise. i just assumed they were going in with 8 nhl caliber dmen.

Then you can only carry one forward which means one of the kids would have to go down or someone like Acciari or Nordstrom would have to be waived.
