I fully expect the jets to be worse this year as of TODAY for the following reasons Morrissey isn't signed yet no replacement for Armia . Which Helly shows up this year? Can Ros play C. Can Maurice coach a team to back to back playoff seasons something he has only done once in 20 years of coaching
1) Morrissey will sign soon enough, missing the start of training camp isn't good but its not the end of the world (Pastrnak)
2) Honestly who gives a **** about Armia, he's a depth forward and the Jets have some very good players ready to make the jump to replace him.
3) Helly has impressed in 2 of his 3 seasons and built a reputation as a tireless workhorse in the off season.
4) Look at their scoring depth!!!!!!! They are almost as deep as TO and Tampa. They could use and likely will pick up a centre at the deadline but its not going to make them a bad team.
Winnipeg is going to contend for the cup this year.
The western conference has 2 real powerhouses Nashville and Winnipeg. Vegas is very good but literally everything went perfect last season. Can that happen twice in a row? Maybe but who knows.
St Louis, Minnesota, Annahiem, LA, etc are good teams but they are a big step below the Jets and Nashville which will once again battle for the Presidents trophy.
Honestly Anyone can win the pacific this season, only the Canucks would surprise me if they won the division. In the Central, teams could surprise but its doubtful. I think St Louis is given some huge benefit of the doubt, they weren't good enough last year but made some major additions. My concern though is their team speed and their collective age. I see them having a very small window at best.
