This was a great signing, for the Jets 🤪

Tampa Bay Lightning signed Brayden Point (3 Years / $6,750,000 AAV)
It’s time for Tkachuk, Rantanen, Laine, and Connor to just all sign three-year deals at 6.75 and let’s move on with the season. Get on it dawg gone it

Vancouver Canucks signed Brock Boeser (3 Years / $5,875,000 AAV)
This HAS to set the market for the remaining RFA’s now. For example for the Jets there’s no way Laine or Connor can get more then 6 million a year tops for a 2-3 year bridge deal

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>EthanK24</b></div><div>It’s not bad for Mikko Rantanen and Matthew Tkachuk.</div></div>
But it’s bad for Colorado, Calgary and the rest of the league with RFA’s holding out right now

Toronto Maple Leafs signed Mitchell Marner (6 Years / $10,893,000 AAV)
This contract is bad for the Leafs and it’s bad for the entire league. Not to mention outside of Toronto it’s definitely not winning Marner any fans.

Winnipeg Jets signed Joshua Morrissey (8 Years / $6,250,000 AAV)
What can I say, with all the ridiculousness going on with the RFA’s right now Morrissey and the Jets give the middle finger to that and sign a great contract for player and team. Mad props to both of them.
Morrissey will be 33 when this expires, it’s pretty covers the rest of his career

Columbus Blue Jackets signed Zachary Werenski (3 Years / $5,000,000 AAV)
Not only do they not have to worry about him for the next three years I would’ve given him 6 million a year for those three years so this is a steal

Arizona Coyotes signed Clayton Keller (8 Years / $7,150,000 AAV)
It’s deals like this that continue to remind how the Jets have a MASSIVE steal of a deal with Scheifele

LOVE the term but 4.0 million a year would have been fair for White

Should have been a 2 or 3 year deal at 2 million. To much for a 1 year deal

2.8 million a year would have been more accurate but I’m just nitpicking

Winnipeg Jets signed Ville Heinola (3 Years / $1,137,500 AAV)
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>arafay</b></div><div>Does this mean he might be playing in the ahl next season? If so that would be great. He does have a year left on his contract in Finland so unless it’s terminated, he would need to be in the nhl or the liga.
Could also be that the jets signed him to a contract so that he can come over and play in the ahl right after his liga season is over, like Vesalainen did this year but when his khl season was over.
Thoughts?</div></div>
I think it depends if he has one of those “European assignment clause” attachments to his contract that allows him to go back to Europe instead of the Moose.

(WPG/NYR) - Trouba for Pionk & 1st round pick (#20 - WPG)
NY Rangers have a ton of cap space so they can give Trouba whatever he wants
Jets still in cap space trouble. Pionk will get around 3 million so the Jets still need to clear out some players to free up some cap room.

So starting next year Mark Stone will be getting paid the same amount as Nikita Kucherov. Either Mark Stone is grossly overpaid or Nikita Kucherov is grossly underpaid
