Love it for Zona getting a nice offensive d-man helping them get some players lmao

But why did LA do this? Maybe they have a plan...

makes sense for both teams. LAK because they get salary space (to potentially go after PLD) and Brandt Clarke will be replacing him. Arizona gets a capable top 4 defensemen for a measly 2nd round pick when their prospect core is stacked and they have 8 more 2nds in the next 3 years.

This is a fantastic trade for the Coyotes. Adds a capable Dman who is cost and team controlled. With how many 2nds and 3rds over the next 3 drafts we have this is basically next to nothing cost wise. Fantastic trade

Not a huge fan of Durzi, but they were undeniably thin on the blueline.

If Sandin, Lundkvist and Romanov fetched first round picks, then Durzi should have too.

Another Saturday fleecing in the books.

Arizona wins the trade.

Around what I thought his value was. Good pickup for Coyotes since they have about 1000 2nd round picks

WHAT THE HELL IS THIS!?

Arizona is supposed to trade away players and get draft picks back. Does this mean they are actively trying to get better now?

Strange seeing AZ making smart hockey trades instead of absorbing cap.

Yes, it has been reported that the Coyotes are looking to get much more competitive next season. I expect the Coyotes to do more moves like this given the absolutely absurd amount of assets they have to trade.

Yeah yeah, logjam at RD and whatnot, the Kings could have squeezed a little more out of him.

This is what teams like Detroit and Anaheim need to start doing. Build draft capital, build a stock for the future, but also realize that too many picks will never realize their utmost potential. Arizona using a few of their picks to make smart moves like this will do them massive favors going forward.

Hoarding draft picks almost never works for the best outcome.

Durzi should've gotten at least a late first IMO.

Not sure why LA did this, but value-wise I think it's fair, maybe leaning toward ARZ's favour.

If we weren't going to get a first-round pick for Durzi, I would have wanted us to at least get a top-half second in 2023, not 2024. Arizona wins this one.

A trade where Arizona isn't taking on cap dumps or acting as a third party?

That's a win for the league.

Interesting to see Arizona now in buying mode.

From LA's perspective this is likely also an exercise in clearing cap space for future transactions, so it can't purely be assessed as an exchange, but I would say the Coyotes got the greater value from this deal.
