Should be a good fit in FL. Averaging less than 9 minutes a game over his short career, numbers look good considering that,

I agree that it's a small win for the Avs, and it seems to be the popular vote.

I agree, something like what Conroy was.

(VAN/MTL) - Pearson, 2025 3rd (VAN) for DeSmith
I think DeSmith is worth more than Pearson + a 3rd. DeSmith's save percentage has been above 0.900 his whole career. Good trade for Van, that also gets them cap friendly.

Yes, they look cap strapped this year! 18/23 roster spots filled with under a mil in cap space remaining.

I think there's a bit of over reacting to this, maybe because it came out of nowhere.
I think it's a good contract for player and team.
I just don't know where the Bolts are going to get the cap space, especially since there's no Seabrook after this year...

(CAR / BUF) - Pu and picks for Skinner
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>buxvet</b></div><div>The first year was good, worth 9M, played all 82, got 40 goals, only 63pts though - no playoffs either
Now this year at almost 1/2 way mark 11 Goals 19 pts and now he is injured, your lucky if that production worth 4M a year
And looking grim for the playoffs again this year and he is getting paid 10M real money the first 6years
The jury will be out for a good while yet on this deal, so far not the result Buff was looking for giving up 4 assests
and paying the guy 9m a year
Of course it's not looking great for Carolina either, Cliff Pu who was a 3rd round pick has already been dealt to Florida
for future consideration only and is in the ECHL, the 2nd rounder they got they took a KHL goalie who only played 6 games
last year and 6 so far this year, not particularly promising.
So Car still has Buf 3rd this coming draft and their 6th, but they already traded away the 6th, not sure for what or to who
We shall see, still pretty big advantage Buff at this point, but will decline quick unless he returns to form after this first half
Especially if he is wildly overpaid going forward, he's gonna be a 9m cap hit at 34 years old, it quite possible the last 4 years
of the 8 year deal, he'll be overpaid</div></div>
Is the jury still out?

I'm not sure if the Blackhawks even have a plan. No wonder their captain (and superstar Kane) were being outwardly vocal. Still letting decent players go, for nothing. Good signing for the Canes.

Arizona Coyotes signed Matt Dumba (1 Year / $3,900,000 AAV)
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Pompadour_de_Armstrong</b></div><div>More like pretend, but it's a step in the right direction. Obvious hole in the lineup for a veteran defenseman. Arguably still a hole, but it looks a lot less shaky with Dumba, and when they fall short, the can take inventory at the deadline and see if there are deals to be made.
Spending money on quality veteran free agents without anchoring to term, and keeping all the draft capital banked away is a good compromise towards continuing the rebuild and trying to be more competitive for the players' and team's sake.</div></div>
I mean, they will be dangerous when Weber/Little/Voracek return ;-)

(PIT/MTL/SJS) - Granlund, Rutta, Petry, DeSmith, Légaré, 2024 1st (PIT), 2025 2nd (PIT) for Pitlick, Hoffman for Karlsson, Hamaliuk, 2026 3rd (SJS)
Tough one here, on the surface, at this point in the time spectrum, each team did okay.
Even if Vlasic was moved (instead of Karlsson) Pitt would still fair well, but it would look better for SJ ;-)
Perhaps Pit makes out the best here in 1) getting their man and 2) shedding cap without selling the farm(team).
I just wonder if there will be enough ice time to split between Letang & Karlsson, as both of them thrive on ice-time...

I don't think he keeps it up, even if his knee is 100%. He has slightly changed his style of play over the last 2-4 seasons, but this could easily look like a Weber/Voracek LTIR situation before it ends.
