I think he's underrated defensively and as long as he's fully healed, then he will earn this paycheck. Good signing.

Good signing by the caps. Caps still do have a remaining $4.667M on their LTIR pool.

Not sure he's worth that. Fourth team he'll play with and he's only 26. Don't know all of the in and outs of it so, whatever. It's not too bad I guess...

I accidently clicked yes, but I'm not ssure if this will realloy be a good contract, mostly based on the fact that he hasn't played this year at all, and he's really not that good of a player. I like him though, he's actually from onbly a couple hours away from where I live in SK.

Finally a player who will help Ovie get back on pace for 30+ goals.

I wouldn’t necessarily hold the 4 teams against him. Edmonton traded him for Warren Foegele, which I figured was just a good old-fashioned hockey trade for them — they needed a forward at the time and could afford to give up a defenseman to get one. I liked him in Carolina but he lost his starting spot when he got covid, and then he fell victim to their depth so they did him a favor and sent him to Vancouver so he could play in the NHL. I think he was fine in Vancouver but they didn’t want to make him a qualifying offer because of his surgery and their cap concerns, so that made him a UFA, free to shop around and he landed in Washington. He may not be top pair material but he’s good enough to be an NHL starter on most teams.

I imagine he's seen as a potential partner for Sandin, who the Caps desperately need to get going offensively. He hasn't meshed with Carlson, TVR or Jensen so I bet they get a long look together to start

He refused to sign for one year and there were plenty of teams looking for defencemen, so he was going to get his two years.

What you would do to have Bear on the Leafs. Instead you're giving 5 to TJ Brodie and 4.1 to Klingberg.

I wouldn't give anything...

Leafs had the option and cap to sign Bear to 2 mill and didn't

Says who? Who's to say he just doesn't want to play in Toronto? He's definitely a positive asset at 2 Million.

Says all insiders reporting Toronto in search of a defensemen... And Bear not being one of the prime names...

And Friedman reporting that the Nylander is the biggest priority meaning Toronto wasn't trying on signing Bear

You realize it's a two way street right? Bear narrowed his list down to 2 years like a month ago and just signed his contract. Clearly he had no interest in Toronto, this isn't NHL 24 where players just accept the highest offer, there is more than that.

There was no reported interest in a multimillion dollar deal from TO...

Exactly. Neither side had an interest, which should worry you as a Leafs fan.
