(CHI/NSH) - Beauvillier for 2024 5th (NSH)
Isn't this like trading away Trenin to later trade to get a Trenin, except also throwing away $3M? Granted, only 1month of that amount, but still makes little sense to me...or is $3M the cost of moving a 5th round pick to a 3rd round pick? Madness...

(TOR/CAR) - 2026 6th (TOR) for Webber
Are you allowed to say wtf here? Why chase a prospect in a position you don't really need? Why give up anything for such a gamble? Why now? I realize its just a 6th, but that could have been a chip in a part of a larger deal for a piece they actually need...

(OTT/FLA) - Tarasenko for 2024 4th (FLA), 2025 3rd (FLA)
Why would you trade Tarasenko for so little return on Wednesday, when you can wait 2 days and maybe see the market shift in your favor? Its not like Ottawa was going to get less for him on Friday...just an epically stupid trade by Ottawa. And frankly, Vegas is also a loser here, given they gave up more for Mantha...

Nashville Predators signed Thomas Novak (3 Years / $3,500,000 AAV)
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Tonir87</b></div><div>You never know. If Saros get hot and team stay healthy. Yes why not?
Voted yes. Good signing. Novak have potential to be regular 50-60+ player.</div></div>
This is a steal of a signing. This is a young team and as guys like Evangelista, Tomasino and Glass start to hit their stride, Novak is going to rack up the points. Totally agree with 50-60 easily.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jpsnow13</b></div><div>I get it, a hot goalie can carry a team far in the playoffs. MTL did the same in 2021.
But IMO Saros is no Rinne or Price. I'm not a fan, and neither seems Trotz since he looks more enclined to trade him away than to resign him ...</div></div>
As for Saros, Trotz can hate him if he wants, but can't ignore 6th in the league in wins. Not sure how Trotz looks more inclined to trade Saros, but if you're basing that on term left without an extension, Saros has as much term left as Marner and Draisaitl. Are those two in play this week as well?

Highest paid player in the league when this kicks in. Probably still going to be in the top 5 when this expires. Plays 0 minutes on the penalty kill. Probably means Marner gets traded now. Then let's see how well dude scores. Oh well, I'll follow Marner. Plus 4 years is a joke...just gives him a chance to cash in again...0 thought to trying to work within a cap system in an effort to win.

Insanely good deal for ducks, but I really agree 8 years should have happened. I think both sides would have benefitted.

Pretty sure Larkin caved in or Yzerman would had no choice but trade him in the next 48h.</div></div>
It must be this. I can't understand why Larkin would get this close to testing the market then cave. Yzerman must have said those two words no free agent wants to hear right now: Winnipeg Manitoba

(TOR/WSH) - Sandin for Gustafsson, 1st (BOS)
I hate this deal for Toronto. The upside for Sandin is huge; he was close with Liljegren (is he also on the chopping block now?); the pick is #32...all for a player whose claim to fame is being a passener on Montreal's run to the finals in 2021...Dubas seriously...

Toronto Maple Leafs signed Keith Petruzzelli (2 Years / $817,500 AAV)
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>drewjenkins</b></div><div><strong>Does anyone know:</strong> Why Yzerman let him walk as a 3rd rounder?
Or did Petruzzeli just choose NCAA x 4 years for UFA status?
Regardless, Yzerman has done well finding young goalies:
- <strong>Husso (27)</strong> for a 3rd rounder
- <strong>Nedeljkovic (26)</strong> for a 3rd
- <strong>Gylander (21)</strong> in the 7th
- <strong>Bednar (20)</strong> in the 4th
- <strong>Cossa (19)</strong> in the 1st
<strong>Cossa + Husso</strong> should be a strong tandem for a long time.</div></div>
I don't have the answer here, but I do believe this is the most important question. My guess would be that Yzerman doesn't believe in him for whatever reason....looks good to me tho

(MTL/ARI) - 2022 conditional 1st round pick and 2024 2nd round pick for Dvorak
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>sensonfire</b></div><div>At the end of the day, MTL traded what could be a 1st in the top half of the 1st round and a 2nd for Dvorak.
That's a good deal for ARI.
KK and the Canes have absolutely nothing to do with this trade.
It's why the Canes are not an option for voting on who won the trade.</div></div>
Never said anything about whether or not the Canes won the trade. Montreal still has a first round pick, just like they did 8 days ago. They won.

Will have to wait the end of the season to see the 1st round picks final ranks. If both are 20+ it would be another W for MTL over ARZ.
Will have to wait 4 years to see if KK realise his potential and become a better player than Dvorak...</div></div>
I agree and I don't get why more people don't see this: the nhl is the big league...you're supposed to prove yourself then get paid. 4 Years from now and maybe KK is worth it? What a stupid choice by CAR.
At the end of the day MTL traded KK and a 2nd for Dvorak and a 3rd. That's a good deal for MTL.
And anyone who says KK has more potential than Dvorak never saw Dvorak play in the OHL.

Carolina Hurricanes signed Jesperi Kotkaniemi (1 Year / $6,100,035 AAV)
If you look at the Casey Mittelstadt signing of $2.5M/yr for 3 years, he is virtually a clone of Jesperi Kotkaniemi. So nearly a $4M overpay for this offer sheet. Whichever team ends up with this contract is foolish.
Also, 61 probably refers to Ryan Suzuki (that is his number in Carolina). I'd bet Bergevin wanted him, but the asking price from Wadell was Kotkaniemi...

Such an epic troll using jersey numbers of Aho (20) KK (15). And surely will never backfire on Wadell, because its not like they have a player in CAR who wears #61 that Montreal might be interested in offer sheeting in a couple years...
