I think both the Devils and leafs would accept these trades. However, I think I'm the leafs trade you could take out the goalies. But it's just a small thing obviously and as a devils fan I love the trade it gives us a much needed Dman to play with Vatenan.

Leafs say no, marleau says no... you are trading someone with a full NMC twice!!

Leafs can not replace marleau for 3m so the trade makes no sense.

Well to be fair, don't think Marleau wouldn't refuse waiving for San Jose, since he's played there most of his career. And the trade is just to move a part of his salary - he wouldn't be a single hour in Canes roster. Kinda like the Brassard trade where OTT traded him first to Vegas in order to make them retain part of his salary...

But you may be right... TOR might not have the cap space to do this.

Didn’t even see that trade on the bottom, no you can not do that. It is called cap circumvention and is prohibited. And no marleau is not going back to Sam Jose. He signed a 3 year NMC contract. He will be a leaf till then.

For not recognizing what NMC signifies to Marleau.....and it means among other things Not Moving (to) Carolina.

Is that so? Didn't know that. Live and learn, I guess.

I agree that the Marleau trade is a no go from the leafs side of things and I doubt he would waive his no-trade regardless even if it was to SJ because I'm pretty sure once the no-trade has been waived it would no longer exist meaning if he did allow a trade to SJ they could trade him again if they wanted to.

Well this AGM is made for 2019-20 season when Marleau is on the last year of his contract so it's basically pointless for Sharks to trade him again...

Why not. Yes he good but we have more skilled kids in the system. (Speers, Quenville, McLoed, Anderson) we could get something good for him like a Dman. Besides I think Seattle would take him anyways.
