if bruins don't want this veteran playoff guy, why would the coyotes. backes mmc might just stop the deal anyway. coyotes have managed their budget by acquiring ltir playings not by paying overpriced vets.

After this season (which this mock is) Backes goes from a NMC to a NTC. Even still I imagine that ARZ would be on his list of teams he can't be traded to. I could maybe see them as a middle man though. They'd retaining maybe a few million in cap space for two season and get assets from BOS and Backes final destination.

As for the OP:

Panarin is going to want 9+ million easy, not to mention Boston doesn't seem to be one of his preferred destination. On Donato, at $1.4 mil (depending on how this season goes) its a 1-year deal.

Thanks for your comment, appreciate it.

Didn't know about Backes NTC. Thanks! Could be dealt for assets as you recommend.

Panarin is going to ask for big bucks, that's for sure. This was just a goofy play-around-with-the-B's. Where do you see Panarin? Could be fun to see him in Tampa with Kucherov. Would make TBL deal core players though to get him to fit under the current cap.

From what I recall, he wants to go to Tampa, New York (Rangers) or LA.

As much as I like that first line I’d want to see Panarin play with Pastrnak

any trade that exits backes is a good trade at this point. I like the player but I dont like the contract and they need the dollars elsewhere. I like there young wingers so I dont see panarin coming here and I see them chasing centers unless stud and Fredrick get real good real fast. there are decent centers available in the next couple offseasons so I can see them chasing a guy like kevin hayes or Michael grandlund and reload at the position.
