MTL would keep salary on the best goalie in the league or accept such a small offer for him

Yeah haha, I just like trolling and that's something MTl fans would say. They think Price is the most valuable player in the league and worth 20 1sts

Price is signed till 2026, trusting he's going to bounce back and hoping he plays at that level until 2026 is a big bet and the oilers are already saddled with 2 huge contacts, Its a bad move. He's not top 5 and he might not even be top 10 anymore.

Hes not top 10 anymore because of 1 bad year on the 3rd worst team in the league? Come on 1 bad season and 10 remarkable seasons... get out of here

Not willing to bet $10M a year on a maybe, not to mention he is also injury prone at this point.

Price is in his prime, and one of the best in the league. Goalies have a much longer life span than skaters. His injury history isn't much of a concern let alone considered injury prone. He had 2 unrelated injuries, and didn't miss to many games last years even though he probably should have shut it down. He's still going to be a top goalie for the majority of the next decade, the problem is that MTL is a mess and is going to waste his best years

Not willing to take a 10% chance on not having the best goalie in the league for 10 million dollars but willing to spend 14 million on the worst goalie in the league, a has-been dman, and a centreman that never lived upto his potential? That is ludacris

And give me a break son about high scoring leafs. Learn to use that channel changer and flip over to a Washington game if you wanna see high scoring

Okay grandpa, it's called a tv remote not channel changer these days and as an edm fan you should be an expert on being beat by weak wrist shots...

Carey price went up against one of the most potent offensive lineups in the league, Mathews scored for 15 feet away just up underneath the crossbar in a matter of mili seconds (measured time in 1 thousandths of a second).. weak wrist shot my butt.

I don't like either toronto or Montreal but as you are an Edmonton fan I realize that you haven't seen good goaltending in over a decade and are not familiar with what it looks like, so maybe you shouldn't be judging who's good and who isnt

For $10M a year it should be every game, this is a one off. Feel free to go circle jerk with the rest of the Price fans. The guy has never won a thing and cant lead his team to the finals, for a goalie making $10M he should damn well be winning you the cup by himself

Hahaha you sir/madam are a real gem, so price alone should win a cup buy himself because he makes 10.5 mill a year?? So in edm (I assume your favorite team) McDavid makes 12.5 million a year and in 3 years hes made the playoffs 1 time, how many cups has he won on his own? I apologise whole heartedly for beginning a rational discussion with you, also edm has had 6 out of 8 top five draft picks, how many cups did they win with them...

Also so you know I'm an avalanche fan and a fan of hockey in general, I like price because hes the best at his position, it's not his fault that mtl agreed to pay him that much money, which he clearly earned if someone like draisaitl can make 8.5

Lundqvist is done, maybe in his prime you can make that comparison. Quick a few years ago as well, was comparable, now he's on the tail end of his career. Bobrovsky, Dubnyk, Murray, Bishop, and Anderson are all average NHLers and aren't even on the same plain as Price. Jones and Vasilevski are young but could be mentioned along side Price, and Holtby has been better
