Not wotth canucks future top pairing defenseman and current top pairing defenseman and a draft pick for a 50-60 pts player and prospect. Canucks major problem right now is defense! Since when have they had a household name like "Subban" in their franchise history? The answer is they havent. Hughes and Juolevi are both guys that can fix that.

First of all Juolevi is heading into bust territory while Liljegren is very highly touted.
2ndly, a 60 point player is pretty much at the top of your scoring charts in Vancouver. (Yes Petterson and Boeser will be high offensive players, but that's about it. Horvat is more of a 50-60 point guy but a good defender in his zone as well)

This trade is 1000% completely a slam dunk for Vancouver.

Nylander is the best player in the trade, followed by Tanev (For now, Liljegren will be better within 3 years) So this is in fact, a really bad deal for TO.

Comparing Juolevi to Subban is laughable, Juolevi could almost be considered a bust at this point.

Take out Liljegren, Nylander and Juolevi and instead have Vancouver retain half Tanev's salary for a 1st rounder from TO and a prospect not named Sandin, or Liljegren. Then this is a trade that makes sense. Vancouver gets a prospect and a 1st rounder for a 28 year old.
