Yes we do

Why should we pay $7 million for a third line RW as Kapanen has built chemistry with Matthews and Kadri's line needs to keep going. Pesce is the big physical defensive Right sided defenceman needed to win the cup

As much as Pesce/Nylander has some logic as being fair in trade value, what is the motivation for Canes to trade Pesce? The way Kappy has played with Matthews, maybe team are thinking Nylander's success is a product of Matthews. You just told the reason above why this doesn't look like such a fair deal for the Canes.

My thoughts exactly. For being a cup contender ( or at least playoff ) you need 4 "top D's" and thats why they will get rid of Faulk and build on Pesce. Kid was signed long-term with a reason.

Outsider's opinion (Devils fan): I think a D man like Pesche with that cap hit and term is more valuable to this team than nylander.

There is no reason to include the other pieces here. Leivo is cheap and has been playing pretty decently - there's absolutely no reason to move him at this point.

Only 7 games in and your pegging Nylander as a 3rd line RW? Pump the breaks, Kapanen has had a great start to the season but no way he is a better player then Nylander overall. Nylander and Matthews also have had great chemistry for the past 2 seasons playing together on the top line. Also, Kadri needs a better winger to play with. The 3rd line has not been good enough so Nylander could at least start with Kadri and then move his way back up to the top line.
