Initial Creation Date: Oct. 17, 2018

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
What would you do???

1. The Penguins currently only have one RD in their top 6, unless Ruhwedel hops in the lineup. I think the Penguins should look into acquiring a RHD.
Options:
Honka - DAL
Bortuzzo/Schmaltz - STL
LaDue - LA
Heed - SJ

2. The offense has not been performing at its fullest capabilities. Although it is still early, if this continues, I think changing something up and looking to add some decent LW(s) can be smart. I think even adding a young player who has struggled to find success with their current team could be interesting.
Options:
Dzingel - OTT
Scherbak - MTL
Copp - WPG
Leivo - TOR
Crouse - ARI

3. I think the team needs to change the lines up. I would personally give Sprong a chance with Sid and Guentzel.

sprong def needs to be on sids line. otherwise there is no point of having him in the lineup. can't expect him to score playing 4th line minutes. honka would be a nice pickup if GMJR can steal him away from the stars for cheap but i doubt it. GMJR always has tricks up his sleeve though

Honka - DAL, Schmaltz - STL, Dzingel would be only players of interest.

You'd be right if Pens have been playing well defensively. But this is far from the reality. Our top line is already negative on plus/minus. So take out Hornqvist to put Sprong at this moment to play against the other teams best players and for more minutes would hurts us defensively even more, Sprong needs to get at least a bit better and Pens must play better defensively to make that happen.

Dzingel was one that I considered to be a decent LW and not someone that is currently struggling.

I removed Fantenberg. Thanks smile Also, I think Dzingel would be available if the Penguins offered Maatta. I think Ottawa would have to throw in a little more because the Pens might lose Dzingel to FA, but I think Ottawa would want Maatta.

Hornqvist has not been on the first line recently; it has been Brassard. Last night, I saw Sprong tracking back and fighting for the puck. The least the Penguins can do is give him a shot.

I do think at least giving Sprong a shot would be nice. As for Honka, he has played the least minutes between the 7 current Stars on the roster. When Johns comes back, that will probably push him to 8th. For the right price, I can see the Penguins picking him up.

Wow! Really bad idea put Brassard as a winger. As for Sprong, I think he should play some more games with Cullen and Sheahan to learn more about defense. Both are very good players defensively, specially Cullen. I think Cullen can teach valuable defensive things to the kid. So, to me it's too soon to put Sprong in first line to play against the other teams top boys. But I admit it wouldn't be a crazy thing to do. Much more reasonable than use Brassard as a winger.
