The TOR trade isn't happening. However, I like the idea of a trade where Sprong is traded for a young LW, makes some sense. Really don't want to part with a first round pick that could potentially be a high pick though.

only increases their cap by 6.8, the rest they pay to kessel no matter what. Hes a point per game player and now has two cups under his belt. there is zero chance that they get a better player than kessel if they have to trade nylander. its basically trading nylander for the player they all hope nylander becomes

Yes but still.. Kessel was sick from toronto and wanted out and there is no way Toronto trades longer term success for success now..

Nothing in that that package Leafs would want. Kessel, IMO he's a premium player for with the Pens, and likely not for any other team (maybe Tampa). He has has a niche in Pittsburg which probably isn't transferable to other teams.

look toronto just because you are paying Kessel for the next 800 years doesn't mean we are giving him back tears of joy

I don't think a 1st rounder even has to be included, maybe just package Sprong and a 2nd or something for Namestikov. I also wonder how available Puljujarvi is from EDM, not that Sprong and a pick alone would be enough, but would definitely be interesting.
