Maata is heavily underrated because Pens fans don't like his speed. Young, top 4 LD on a team-friendly contract with two cup rings that almost never gets scored on. He would look incredible on a Western Conference team like ANA. Ducks are RD-rich and need a LD with Fowler out. Trade is fair.

I would argue the reverse actually. After Montour and Manson the only RD of consequence is Andy Welenski. So I'm not sure it works out.

Even though I like Määttä, ANA laughs at that offer. Montour+2nd would probably get them Nylander from TOR.

Friedman reported that the Pens were interested in acquiring him, but the Ducks did not want to move him. I personally cannot see them making this deal.
