Description

giving Toronto's offseason a shot. Matthews gets the Eichel contract. Shot the gap between Matthews and Nylander to guess Marner's. Gave him a 7 year contract just so all the contracts expire on different seasons. I don't see how keeping Gardiner is an option without trading someone else. Gave Kapanen a prove it type deal and filled the rest of the holes in the roster with cheap placeholders.

They are all in this year. This is a 2.5 line / 1 d pair team next year. They’ll get some freedom the following year when Marleau’s deal expires. There isn’t much coming through the minors, as it’s all up at the moment (and they are too good to tank).

I'd like to see Kapanen get a chance with Matthews and Nylander. There's also a little wiggle room, so Johnsson, Lindholm and Leivo could happen. I'm also not ruling out Oziganov comig back either.

Wasn't sure what to give any of them. I don't think any of em would've cost much more than 1M. That D Depth just might be scary.... but at the same time that offense might keep the puck at the other end enough to where that doesn't matter as much. Either that or they can just try to win 6 to 5.

Shanahan needs to step up and Tonya Harding Marleau into LTIR
Next year will be a disaster if Gardiner leaves and no new defence join.

Dubas better tamper and bribe the hell out of Adam Fox's family if he wants a chance at not wasting next season

You say you give Matthews the Eichel contract, but with your set cap at 83.5M you’re gonna have to give a higher AAV to both Matthews and Marner there

they have liljegren and sandin both under 20 defencman playing well in the AHL as well as carl grundestrom who looks to be a solid top 9 forward for them next year the way he is playing this year. they most likely trade a forward (brown, kappy, johnnson) and a 1st for a solid 4th dman like pesce and theyll be fineeeeeee

yeah didn't account for inflation of the cap.

Spoken like someone who doesn’t have a clue... please watch a marlies game. We don’t have any nylanders, mathews or marners coming up but we have about 4 or 5 kappy/Johnsson level players and outlet D prospects are plentyful and good.
