Leafs would trade for Manson if you take on Zaitsev would is good defender who would help ducks and we give you 1st rounder and even a prospect like Timashov who would find spot on this team..

Manson for Timashov, Zaitsev and 1st? Are you in?

So Kesler has played basically all season but he magically ends up on LTIR next season? Also you’re not trading years of control on Manson for basically one season of Pietrangelo

Manson for Timashov, Liljegren and a first.

Ducks problem isn't seem of mid range cap guys. It's Perry, maybe Henrique and even Fowler. Why not just keep the cheaper and younger Manson instead of trading for soon to be UFA Pietrangelo.

I was very surprised at the amount of games that Kesler was playing, but his style of play has worn down his body and his play this season has reflected that, it’s not all that unlikely that he doesn’t play after this season. Manson is good, but Pietrangelo is far better, I think that it’s worth it to have Pietrangelo for a short period of time than hold back some good prospects like Marura

Perry is probably the least movable contract on the team, so I threw that idea out of the window. Henrique is good and fairly young for the ducks at 28/29. Fowler is a good top four dman and trading him would make little sense unless you try to get value for Perry.

I like Manson, but I feel like his value is being exaggerated here. Manson is a top 4 defenseman but certainly isn’t worth the leafs first round pick, a good potential nhler AND their best prospect

Kesler is finally able to skate again. His pace has picked up. He’ll play thru the end of his contract. Also 3 years of Manson >> 1 of Pietrangelo who’s having an awful season. And that’s just your trades. You signed a bunch if 4th liners and 7-8 Dmen and declared them the savior. You have the ducks best winger on the 4th line and paid a hefty price for a back up goalie might get 20 games.

Silfverberg is the ducks best winger imo, and should bolster up the line with Lundestrom and Sorensen. Sorensen has fairly good production this season within the Sharks’ bottom six, which is a result of his great speed and hands, which would hopefully go well alongside Silfverberg’s speed and shot. Brandon Tanev is more of a chippy player, but has good production as well, he’d essentially be the Zach Hyman to Adam Henrique’s Auston Matthews. I worked this around the assumption that Pietrangelo would sign an extension and return to the reliable top 2 dman form that he’s known for. Chris wideman offers a little more stability and a two way presence alongside the rookie in Jacob Larson. Koskinen will play about 30 games in order to keep John Gibson well rested and healthy
