Taking Another Look at Coyle

Created by: DirtyRebound
Team: 2018-19 Boston Bruins
Initial Creation Date: Dec. 11, 2018

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
In a full season, Coyle has hovered around 42-50 points so comparable 3rd line centers would be Henrique , Soderberg, Bjugstad, and even Kadri if looking at his performance this year. When looking at these players, each one brings a different element whether it be offensively or defensively. It's important to ask what you would give up for any one of these players to better your understanding of what one would give up for Coyle.

Add in the affordable contract Coyle is signed to for this season and next, this makes Coyle a valuable 3C for the right price.

The price I'm giving is very much a matter of opinion of what it would take to acquire such a player mid-season. The price would be much less if the acquisition were to occur in the Offseason.

I’d do it. Probably more than what he is worth. But I’d do it.

Swap Zboril for Donato and you have yourself a deal. We need scoring more than anything right now.

So do we so....no. Sorry

If Donato gets traded it’s for an established sniper or too 6 center. Coyle is neither. He’s a complimentary piece.

I really don't get why B's fans want Coyle. Then again our fanbase seems to get a hard on for anyone whose from the area.

Iowa is doing just fine, and neither of those players will help the NHL team this year. They will have a hard time breaking the roster next year too unless major changes are made. Bos has some nice prospects but they are all guys that we already have in LHS wings and d-men.

JFK is the Bos player that makes sense for Coyle from the Wild PoV: RHS C/RW.

Hockey Feed is saying a deal is close between the 2 for Coyle. But Hockey Feed is about as accurate as a broken watch.

I just read the article. It's not really wrong, but it could have been written any time in the last month+ and been just as true. dunno Help

Interesting, yeah I'd take any rumors with a grain of salt as Fenton keeps his insider info very close to his chest. Sometimes stuff leaks, but it's rare.

JFK seems like another JEE to me. I wouldn't hate him but he has had lackluster offensive numbers in both the AHL and NHL thus far.

He's had 13 NHL games so meh. His AHL numbers weren't bad last year, and put up decent numbers in college. I see him as being another Coyle, but maybe he won't disappear like Coyle does.

Mn fans do the same thing. #oneofus is a real thing with the fans, and there is at least 1 token MN player drafted every year.

I like players for their abilities, not where they are from. Don't get me wrong if/when a kid from my hometown (we have a NAHL team, so it could happen) was drafted I'd be excited too, but it's not something I'd put much weight on.

Not so much the fact in this case about him being from the area. I know that is the case for many other Bruins fans but I'm more so looking at who is available and who can play 3C.
