I kind of agree that Parayko and Terasanko in the same deal loses the value of both players. I do this all the time which as a GM you never want to trade more than one great player away at a time. What interests me about this trade is Draisaitl vs Terasanko. What would either team want to even this trade? Would Edmonton consider trading Draisaitl?

It would leave them completely bereft of high end talent after the first line with not many prospects in their system. But it is Chiarelli, so its a toss up

Okay well Draisaitl is better than Tarasenko, and has more value, so what you are saying is Bortuzzo is worth Yamamoto, Spooner and a first?tears of joy some of you guys are just flat out hilarious

I think there's no way a team with Draisatl and a good center could miss the playoffs. Uh..... right, guys? smile

Draisaitl has bever had a 30 goal season. He is younger though, thats why Drai and a first = Tarasenko, a little of Yamamoto go towards that too

Buddy did you know that there is more to being a good hockey player then scoring goals? lets look at the stats from the past 3 years,

Tarasenko (27 years old) -- 194 GP, 82 G, 80 A, 162 PTS, 0 +/-
Draisaitl (23 years old) -- 195 GP, 70 G, 119 A, 189 PTS, +5 +/-

So how exactly is Tarasenko better or more valuable? no to mention Draisaitl is a relativley strong defesnive player, and kills penalties, and don't forget Draisaitl is 4 years younger, The Oilers would never move Draisaitl for Tarasenko, because that would only set the team back.

It lost something in the explanation, but the trade had the Oilers getting Parayko who's pretty good at defense and plays the side where the Oilers are a bit weaker. I don't think it's that unrealistic. I just think it's a huge overpayment for a wing who could score 40 goal with McDavid, when they could get Burakovsky who has already scored 40 goals with McDavid in juniors and is four years younger, for a lot less.

Blues wouldnt take Spooner. Blues have guys like Draisaitl who can set up a play and score when needed (O'Reilly, Schenn) and Draisaitl costs more. Makes little sense for the Blues to make this move. Also, Blues would need Bouchard to even things out for their defensive prospects. They currently dont have anyone else on the right sidr besides Reinke.

I was replying to the comment saying “take Parayko out put in Bortuzzo and it’s even” which is pure stupidity, if Parayko is in this deal I agree it is somewhat even, but trading for Tarasenko makes no sense if we are giving up Drai, because that’s a step backwards, I agree Burakovsky is a cheaper alternative that has good potential.

Okay, It sounds like we came to a consensus. If Chiarelli reads this web site and God knows he should. The Oilers should trade for Burakovsky and Taresenko should be a Blue for life.

Draisaitl is a center, Taransenko is a winger, they are very different players, and scoring goals is a lot more valuable, their are not many pure goal scorers in the league. I already pointed out this trade would put them back by the way

Okay then we are on the same page lol, but scoring goals really isn’t much more valuable because an assist leads to a goal, and Drai is on pace to reach 30+ this year
