What even are these trades?

The Ottawa idea has the phone only even picked up if the St. Louis pick is a top 5 at the end of the season. Even then, Stone and Duchene can both easily fetch a 1st and a good prospect (which you haven't included at all) and Dzingel probably gets a 2nd and a good prospect by himself. Eugene Melnyk doesn't wanna pay good players like Karlsson to stay in Ottawa, why would he pay 4 players who are cap dumps to play for him?

& Carolina accepts and runs away laughing before you have a chance to change your mind. You have severely overpaid for Faulk. And I mean not even a little bit. A LOT overpaid for him.

Five stars for making the Sabres great, this actually resembles a Stanley cup team now.
Ottawa IMO would not make that trade that is a very good 2nd line with 43 goals only 5 fewer than Skinner, Eichel and Reinhart and the only real value going to Ottawa are the picks.
Before every one blasts me but let's combine the Skinner trade with this one.
Skinner and Faulk for Pu; Nylander, Alexander; Girgensons, Zemgus; Thompson, Tage; 2019 2nd round pick (SJS); 2020 3rd round pick (CBJ); 2019 4th round pick (SJS); 2019 6th round pick (TOR); 2020 6th round pick (STL) ; 2020 6th round pick (SJS)
The picks are really limited value, Nylander and Pu have really not done much in the AHL to show that they are NHL players, Thompson and Girgensons have not done much in the NHL either. So Buffalo is giving up a bunch of low return picks for a really good RHD (I know all Buffalo fans will push back on this but go to https://public.tableau.com/profile/bill.comeau#!/vizhome/SkaterComparisonToolv2/Dashboard1 and compare Faulk and Ristolainen, it opened my eyes), I would love to do both trades but I am quite certain Ottawa would pass and Carolina would think hard before they would say no as well..
