Better

We lose Appleton but we get a 2C for 1.5 years...or more if he will resign...We also get rid of Kulikovs contract for next year.

I actually don't mind this deal from either point of views. Winnipeg improves a lot but also gets rid of Kulikov, while STL gets rid of Bouwmeester as a rental and gets 2 nice picks and a good C prospect that has lit it up in the AHL.

Also, I'm a huge fan of Appleton because of his play in the AHL, and I'm not sure whether you should trade him. I guess it's probably necessary to get the deal done, but IDK if i'd want to personally. The Bouwmeester for Kulikov part is interesting because you got them to retain, and I think that makes a lot of sense.

Schenn isn't necessarily the piece Winnipeg needs, but I actually like this idea because it doesn't get rid of too many important pieces. I wouldn't move Perrault tho, he adds some serious depth and that trade can happen at the draft after he helps them in the POs. I would consider moving Lowry maybe instead. That being said, i see why you did it. Balances the lines and gives more opportunities for Lemieux, Petan, Roslovic ETC. Also removes some cap pressure for next season, and he does have a 4.5 hit, so you make more room for Schenn next year.

As aBlues fan I don't like this very much. Not really sold on Appleton.

Yeah this is a pretty solid trade. I bet Armstrong would try to get Vesalainen, but if he’s off the table this is a good return.

Lowry is the most important depth player we have. He is not going anywhere. Perreault is good but too expensive.

Blues say no pretty easily. They would need a better prospect coming back. Don't really think Winnipeg makes a good trade partner for picks/prospects at the moment

consider... we send Perrault (or the second rounder we acquire for him according to this), 1st rounder , Appleton, and someone like Vallati (recent D man from draft) or Samberg (another good D prospect) + Kulikov for Bouwmeester, low pick and Schenn. What do you think now?

Just curious, this isn't my ACGM or even what I would probably do, just adding a D prospect to see what you think.

I guess you don't know Appleton??? He would be one of STL top prospects....he is the Jets 2nd best...He was the top rookie in the AHL last year

I think the Blues could get better from elsewhere. Appleton is fine, but Blues really don't need any more centers. I think Vesalainen has to be involved.

Perrault is a fine player, but oft injured. Something Blues already struggle with Schwartz on. If i'm the Blues I move Schenn to the east anyway. I think Vesalainen has to be included in Jets are involved simply due to term. i would have to take more time to think about it.

He’d be our 5th best forward prospect

Appleton is a really good prospect, But Kulikov is not good and your 1st and 2nd will be basically 2nd and 3rd assuming Jets win a playoff round or more. So I just do not see how this value is worth losing Schenn.

Just watch him a few more games. It’s hard to see his talent because he doesn’t get very many minutes. But trust me he will be a very solid 2nd line centre. Very big and physical who is also very skilled

Kulikov is decent(Jets only would trade him because of the cap)....draft picks, this is crazy to say this...I would rather a high 20's pick than a 38-45 pick....Remember Schenn has one year left...He prob won't resign as he would be traded as a rental next year if the Blues still suck

I wouldn't classify him as very big. Idk when I've seen him play in the A he just kinda seems like a middle 6 NHL guy. Which is fine! But, I really don't see top 6 potential due to the fact he isn't a great skater and I don't see him as a center in the NHL.

He's on a similar trajectory as Sammy Blais. Appleton just has a little better production in the A. Both guys will be role players, not really top six scorers IMO.

Why wouldn't Schenn resign? Also this value is the value Schenn would fetch as a rental at the 2020 deadline. prospect, 1st and 2nd is what Schenn could get you as a playoff rental.

You need to at least double that value to get him for 2 playoffs and a full season.

6'2'', 200 LBS is big....unless u and Chara see eye to eye.....13.66 secs in the fastest skating contest is fast enuf...unless u can skate like McDavid.....him playing center is all about development I guess...

Okay so lets say Appleton is a B level prospect and the 1st. That is the value for Schenn at the 2020 deadline. His value now is much higher. thanks

Appleton plays RW. He could be a middle-six winger or even a top six winger
