you mispelled "Carolina" when you said that someone had to add. But you're right, it's still not happening.

Hamilton is a young, cost controlled, top pairing RHD. Nylander is a good 60 point winger who has the luxury of playing on one of the best teams in the NHL. Hamilton is worth much more.

Nylander is 3 years younger, signed for 3 more seasons and only make just over $1M more than Hamilton. If Nylander gets traded to Carolina, he'd be on a Teravanien-Aho-Nylander line.. Aho isn't better than Matthews but Teravainen is better than the wingers he plays with in Toronto so Nylander would still put up at least 60 points, if not more. Hamilton has struggled this season and isn't playing top pair in Carolina. He's playing third pair cause he's struggled so much this season. Yes Nylander hasn't produced either, but Hamilton has played 40 games and only has 13 points, Nylander has 3 points in 13 games. Yes they both haven't produced but Hamilton's is over a longer sample size so its more concerning. Add in the fact that Hamilton has had repeated issues in the past in regards to team chemistry off ice, and his value isn't at Nylander's level. So again, Nylander is worth more.

Yes Hamilton is struggling this year I’ll give you that, but Hamilton has proven in Calgary that he is an elite level defender. His underlying numbers are incredible, he puts up points, and is fun to watch. I’ll take a top pairing 50 point RHD over a 60-70 point right winger any day of the week, and Toronto would too.

Use this chart to illustrate just how good Hamilton was during the 16/17 and 17/18 seasons. He’s exactly what the leafs need

Just cause Boston selected D. Hamilton with Toronto's 1st Round pick that they received from the Phat Phil trade (nice avatar, btw) doesn't mean Toronto wants him. The Phat Phil trade got us Kapanen, might as well include him in the trade. All things come full circle I guess.

I’m not saying Toronto wants him, I’m saying he’d be a great fit. As for the “fat Phil” saying lmao he’s a 90 point player so what he’s bigger, he’s great at hockey

Hamilton is a top 7 RHD in the league and plays a position where there is low supply around the league. Nylander is a top 6 RW who benefits from playing with Matthews.

Toronto probably would have to add Johnsson or Grundstrom and a 1st to even make it remotely close

Hamilton is the last D Toronto would trade for with the Hurricanes. Not a fit in terms of attitude with the rest of the team. Pesce, Faulk, in that order.

the attitude may be right, but he's a great player and would be on the ice a great fit

I know Hamilton is a RHD but he isn't that good now. Nylander and more for Hamilton? It would like Guentzal for Hamilton and certainly Pens fans wouldn't do that deal. Someone how the Leafs always have to pay premium prices for poor to average RHD.

Yep. That what is is this year. OK, some other team can trade for him then. Don't you find it puzzling that Carolina has all these great RHDs...when they are trading to the Leafs. Pesce, Faulk, Hamilton, TVR, all all star RHD in trade value to the Leafs.

okay this year Nylander has also been a bum. your point? and because Carolina has a surplus of D/need for forwards, leafs have a surplus of forwards/need for D. that's why they make perfect trading partners. if Hamilton ends up in Toronto I already know youre gonna be the first to buy a jersey smile
