Pass. Kreider, career is almost .5p/gp in playoffs. Burakovsky only .33, but in each one's most recent playoffs, they're switched, with Burakovsky getting 6 pts in 12 games, and Kreider most recently went 4 for 12.

What about Fast or Hayes?

They look pretty quick to me, but I don't know much else about them.

Hayes would cost this but would have one less year. And pass on fast. Krieder fits perfectly

I think the Rangers won't trade Kreider just cuz he's a good leader for the young guys.

They are in a rebuild? And 2 stars bc you “think” they won’t trade him bc he’s a good leader for the young guys? So would they trade staal if an offer came in ? Or Zuccarello? Should they pass on 1st round picks and prospects for solid leaders? Ha come on man that’s just silly

I'm not saying keep everybody, but you don't need to trade every single person is all I'm saying.

Hayes would push Wilson off PK1, giving him more energy to play offense. Each would fit on at least pp2 in Washington. Wonder if he's open to extending one more year to fit the window.

Vrana don't play pk1. If you had Hayes leading both special teams, and 2nd on a team in p/60, would you trade him for a one way guy? Picture an offer of Seguin for Backstrom. Hard pass, right?

Edit:. I'm not adding Vrana to the offer, by any stretch. Just saying pay Hayes, let Connolly walk, and bridge Vrana until he develops a two way game.

Sign freshly bought out UFA Sam Gagner to equal Connolly's goal scoring, at a lower cap hit. Trade Djoos for a ton of great prospects.

Idk anything about him. Just looked at his HockeyDB nothing crazy. I think they’d need to include a real B level prospect. Right idea though

Idk what your point is? I wouldn’t want anyone else but krieder off nyr bc they either won’t fit or would cost too much

He I fortunately was injuries for the world juniors. He was a player to watch from the Switzerland team. I think he would have impressed a lot of people there

If Jeff Gorton has plans to deal, Chris Kreider isn't part of those plans. As I've said to others on this site, his and David Quinn's vision is to set up his lines as follows:

Power forward left wing-Two-way Center-Playmaking right wing (think Kreider-Chytil-Zibanejad, as an example)

Kreider is the model is the left wings Quinn has won with at BU (the Tkachuk brothers as a prime example). Physical with good speed (Kreider has speed to burn), great shot and leadership, on and off ice.

As of now, only Gettinger exudes any of those traits in the organization in terms of the wing; with the rumored players getting closer to being moved, he and Ryan Gropp are the only semblance of the left wings fitting this playing style.

The Rangers' future roster is missing a numbers of pieces. Deals to be made will be for wings and defensemen; but the framer, Gorton, will need to get it right.

Geisser is solid, but Burakovsky is a dud..pure and simple. Connor Hobbs is more of what the Rangers would be looking for. And, that's more like a Buchnevich trade.

Hope that's helpful.

Bura isn’t a dud. He’s a very solid player... he needs to play for a franchise that will give him an opportunity in their top 6 and top pp. his shot is great and has pretty good hands. Hes the most nhl ready player the caps could offer that would immediately benefit the rangers and that would also help them 5 years down the road.

Hobbs would be hard to replace for the caps considering we have 8 lhd prospects and maybe 2 rhd.

Idk if anyone is going to offer much more than this for krieder. That’s not to say he isn’t good but he’s more or less a rental. I mean the Sens took less for brassard and at the time you could argue his value was higher than krieder is now.

But I appreciate your response gives me a little more understanding on why nyr fans might not like this deal

Kreider is someone who has strong trade value, but few teams are looking at him the way they're gauging Hayes and Zuccarello.

In my opinion, the Rangers missed the total value of McDonough and Miller at last season's trade deadline; while I love Howden, Namestnikov isn't a "value" grab in a return. I thought they left a ton on the table; they really should've ravaged Syracuse or held out until Point was included in the final trade agreement. Gorton let Yzerman off the proverbial hook, giving him a potential Cup-clinching defenseman and forward.

Kreider is a 220 pound body-banging speed demon with an Yzerman-like wrist shot; by the way, having an underappreciated season. The Rangers are being punished for "rebuilding" and no one has the balls to admit it; which is why low-level trade offers seem to be the norm.
