Sweeneys take

Description
I have a feeling sweeney is going to pull the trigger on this trade. He has continuously said he wanted Studnicka, a young player on the roaster, a 1st and more for Panarin or Stone... How do you guys feel on this? this is not from me so criticize Sweeney, not me.

imo, I don't feel like this trade will fall through and I don't want to give up Studnicka or Grzelcyk. The 2 looks amazing and I don't want either to go. I'd rather go for someone like Kreider, Simmonds, Dzingel, or even Schenn. I don't like this myself...

I have nothing against Grzelyck or Studnicka, but they aren't the players they should target with a Stone or Duchene trade.

Can't see them moving Studnicka. I think they have their future top 3 C's in the system.

JFK = Bergeron
Studnicka = Krejci
Frederic = Backes

Now I'm not saying they be as productive as those comps, but they play a similar style of game.

Exactly, that is why I posted this. I don't see them moving Studnicka but Sweeney continuously say that he wants to move him... I like Studnicka's game and I feel like hes underrated, like Krejci. 100% agreeing with you here

100% agreed. I am all against this thing that Sweeney has been talking. I don't see Grizz or Studnicka being moved but yet Sweeney is saying he will move them. I'd say Heinen is the guy to move if anyone is to be moved. Also Bjork. Yes, Grizz and Studnicka aren't you top 4 and first line centerman but they are decently good.

My problem with those two aren't that they aren't good enough, it's just that they fill roles that we have good coverage on.

Studnicka is good, but he'd slot in 5th in terms of Centre prospects in Ottawa. (White-Brown-Norris-Chlapik-Studnicka). As a right hand shot, he could definitely fill the huge hole on the right wing if he moved over (right now it's Batherson then a couple of 4th line maybes in Rodewald and Nurmi), but I'd rather just see them target a natural RW if that's the case.

Grzelyck is definitely good enough to step into Ottawa's top 6, the problem is there's no room for him on the left side. On the left side there is Chabot who is the obvious 1D, Wolanin who has way more upside than Grzelyck, Lajoie who the team is super high on, and after that there's Melnyk's Stooge Borowiecki and Ben Harpur who is 6'6 which to Dorion means he's only slightly worse than Chara. It gets real crowded real quick, and I'm personally not a fan of having dmen playing on their offside.

I haven't read or heard anything indicating sweeney wants to move Studnicka.

Honestly I don't see Boston getting either one. I think they'll get Simmonds. Perfect Boston Style of Player, and you can probably get him without giving up a 1st.

He's going to cost way to much to trade for and then re-sign. Early reports are the Rangers are favorites to sign him. Boston doesn't need a 1st line forward, ...they need a #2RW.

I think Sweeney is looking for someone with some term vs a pure rental.

As a bruins fan I don’t see this happening. One reason is because I believe stone will stay in Ottawa. Second is because I don’t think Don will trade the first rounder at the upcoming deadline. Third I think Grzelcyk and Studnicka are going nowhere for now.

At or before the deadline, I expect Don to trade a second rounder/Bjork/Heinen/Cehlarik and try to get a guy like Schenn or Coyle. I don’t think he will get Zuccarello either because I believe he’s not the type of guy we need. Schenn would probably be our best option right now because I think they can acquire him without giving the blues a first rounder. Same for coyle, who would solve the third line center problem (even though JFK hasn’t been horrible but I’d feel more confident if there was a better option out there)

fully agreed, nor do I want this to happen. but JFK looks better than not horrible. Btw, Schenn isn't our best option, i feel like Kreider is

This is a fair deal that I would do as a Bruins fan as long as Stone resigns.

Studnicka projects as a top tier forward, but you don't truly know until he's played over a full season in the NHL.

Grzelcyk is good, but coaching and management have always loved Krug and it doesn't make the most sense to keep both of them.

The pick is valuable, but it doesn't matter to me if its moved this year because it will basically be set in stone that the 2020 pick isn't traded. As long as we make sure to keep either the 2019 or 2020 1st rounder I'm good and if Stone resigns I don't see the team needing a big rental in 2020.
