Get sergachev back in offseason

Created by: TommyBPickles

Description
If Tampa needs to shed salary to sign point I think this is a pretty fair offer juulsen gives them a better option on the right side and with how strong their left side is they can afford to move sergachev IMO. Armia and Reilly moved out for picks.

There is no logic in saying Sergachov is too expensive next year. He's still on his ELC. I imagine Callaghan doesn't waive for Montreal anyway.

I’m not sure Tampa a has been very impressed with sergechev, juulsen could be useful. Does Callahan waive for the Habs?

I’d wait to see what Tampa fans think but I like the deal.

Yes he is... hence it is not 1 for 1. Callahan will not be easy to move as they have no space to take back a bad contract this deal at least gives them a quality player back at a position that they are weak. Do I think it will happen? No, but I do think that the Callahan contract makes up for the difference in talent.

Your right, they need to sign point this year and I wonder if they can do it without moving callaghan. As for nmv/nmt clauses I usually just ignore them when I am just messing around. Realistically your right he probably wouldnt waive for Montreal but nobody knows until he gets asked

They have less than 10m to sign 7 players, one of them being point. The guys they would like to move have ntc’s. Callahan would probably be the first guy they would like to move. 16 team list so there is a chance the Habs could take him.

Do you think the Habs would need to add more?

asking for way to much for taking on callahans contract. You will be looking at a 2nd round pick value not a good young defenceman.

Point is really the only concern and the $ is there for him. A couple of RFAs that are not going to get signinficant $. The issue is replacing the d man that are UFAs but they have plenty of offense. They can trade a couple of them for lesser cost d men. Problem solved.

Point is on pace to have well over 100 pts and flirt with 50 goals. If he produces in the playoffs Tampa bay cannot afford him without making other moves.

Like i said. They have the space to sign him. After that hey are going to have to do something to fix the rest. Probably trade a couple of the 5m dollar forwards for defenseman and move Callahan and problem is solved.

Even at 6 x 700k it still only leaves about 5m to sign point. Think Callahan and killorn would be the ones they would like to move. If you move just Callahan in this deal you get a decent young RHD which maybe they might want a vet to fill having two young guys in cernak and foote.

I like the deal because it is fairly well thought out and does benefit both teams.

Now, it might be possible to trade Callaghan to some team with a sweetener....just not Montreal. JT Miller looks like a good trade possibility as he does have value. The other player and my favourite is Gourde. His NTC starts July 1. I think he's a draft day trade.
