Peg are not trading Vesalainen for a rental. Not trading him at all.

First of all, that trade is heavily in the jets favour.
I think the jets will be fine without any major upgrades this season. Though if you are okay with Appleton instead of vesalainen, the jets jump all over this trade. I think the jets will hold onto Lemieux. The coach is starting to like him and he is starting to score.

I do not think that Appleton will ever be more than a bottom-six forward . (Think Armia type player)
I could be wrong with this if Appleton can improve his skating a bit more.

If Kulikov continues to play like he is, he will not cost a lot to dump so I think the jets keep him until the offseason when they trade him to a team such ad MTL with a low prospect like suess and a 4th with a 7th in return

For one, everything that's happened with Hayes from since he was drafted says to me he's a clown who I wouldn't want anywhere near a contending team looking at a deep playoff run. I hope the Jets stay far away from him and his ego.
Secondly, if they feel they need another center(I'm not convinced that the Jets do)and they're willing to trade Vesalainen it better be for someone with term like Zibenejad.

It’s confirmed with common sense.

Small market, small arena, low revenue team that has Laine, Conner, Trouba, Roslovic, Copp, Lemieux, Brossoit, Petan all coming due via RFA . Myers and Chiarot UFAs. Unlikey to sign them all they are not trading their top propect that will end up replacing lost assets for someone they can’t re-sign.

The Jets really miss Armia, he's one of the most under rated players in the league. Wonder if the Jets could just swap Kulikov for Schlemko, Habs get the better/younger defenseman and the Jets get a depth piece for about half the cost. They both expire after next season so not a major risk for either team, Jets maybe add a 4th round pick at most.

The Sabre trade is most likely a fair exchange of talent. The Rangers would need to take a low level prospect or roster player to balance the contracts. IMO Betterall would negotiate that 2nd round pick for something else.

Sorry I just don't see him being a good fit for the Jets at all. I love trades and deadline day but would rather the Jets stay away from pricey rentals.

That is understandable. Why did you call him a clown though?

I'm a bit of an @$$hole sometimes... Lol
Well the guys who wait it out and screw the teams around who drafted them irritate me, that's what Hayes and Vesey did. I don't think that should be allowed.

Good on you lol.
I do think they should be allowed to do that. Teams have so much control over their players, we shouldn't frown upon players exercising CBA rights. If a player wasn't allowed to do that, he would be forced to play for a team where he doesn't want to go until he turns 27. I think that's too extreme.

I see your point but I don't have to like it.. Lol
Its only 24 or 25 if they sign at 18 though, or am I wrong about that?

If they play in the NHL at 18, yes. But I was working on the premise that they don't want to sign, therefore, no NHL games played -> no UFA until 27.
