Not a COL or Philly fan but I don't think this goes through if the Flyers don't know what they will end up with as a pick just my opinion

Given that Rantanen is going to demand a payday along what Voracek currently makes, and that the Ottawa pick is likely to be a top-5 pick, I'd say stay patient.

Colorado's issue is more than depth scoring: the goaltending is problematic too. Stay patient, hold the course, and dominate the league for years to come once Makar, Kaut, and the two guys Colorado picks in the first round this year are on the roster. Be patient with Jost too, he'll get there.

That pick has a very high chance of being 1st overall. There's absolutely no chance that Colorado moves it before the trade deadline.

It's possible they'd consider moving it in the off-season after the lottery if the pick isn't in the top 2, but then this trade value has to be revisited, as Simmonds would no longer be relevant.
