Description
It might work if the sens will take Frolic and his gung-ho attitude plus Czarnik, a prospect and a second. but when you pay stone what he will command and do a bridge with Chucky, then I pull up long term, there is #2,3,5,6,7 Defencemen to be signed if you include Stone. huge Cap problem looming

To be 100% honest I really like this. Personally I think you move Neal and sign Chucky to a longer term. Work him into the stone deal. Flames have been kickin ass this year. Been really fun to watch.

You think you're getting Stone for nothing at the deadline? Frolik's deadweight salary, Czarnik's a 4th liner and Graovac's AHL player. Just where is the value?

Even as a rental, Stone is gonna cost at the bare minimum Välimäki, Bennett and a 1st rounder.

Totally agree, I see zero value for Ottawa in that trade.

You may have a point but you won't have a deal, Stone's shelf life is 27 days and after that Treliving will go open market on July one.

Okay I completely agree that what's been offered isn't anything for Stone, but you're way off with "Välimäki, Bennett and a 1st rounder" for Stone. That only even gets considered if Calgary has an extension with him as key of the trade. Otherwise it's a VAST overpayment.

As neither a flames nor send fan of say it is a slight overpayment but it is closer to market value than op posted. It's a bit of an overpayment. The offer above is a joke of underpayment.

It's a second a cap dump, an ahler and a decent depth player.

Trading for a stud rental is typically the old "1st, a prospect and a young player". Bennett is likely a bit higher value than you want to offer

Make it Valimaki, 1st, and czarnick

It's fine to not want to pay the price, but that doesn't mean anyone wants your cast offs.

What you offered was a second, minimal value (depth player, negative value (overpaid player), no value (warm body ahler)

Ottawa gets more if it's a sign and trade. Otherwise, Valimaki, Bennett and a 1st is fair. Calgary really overvalues Bennett. Getting dangerously close to a bust as a 1st rounder and 4th overall.

If Stone walks as a UFA his value is dramatically less than as a straight hockey trade. Even as a straight hockey trade, Stone straight across for Valimaki is about right, maybe throw in a mid-level pick....

Lol Valimaki hasn't proven anything. Discussion for Stone starts with a 1st, then a high prospect, then a young roster player. That's the rate. People can suggest otherwise but that only makes them look foolish.
