Buffalo Domination

Created by: ChiHawk
Team: 2018-19 Chicago Blackhawks
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 1, 2019

Description
Look, the Hawks aren't looking good at all and I don't expect much, but talking about fully exposing Buffalo's holes tonight...wow! I thought Buffalo's defense is better then that, but it's obvious their 3rd pairing is pretty bad. Also, beyond the top 2 lines, the bottom 2 front lines are pretty brutal. Kaner puts up another all star performance in front of his hometown. Kaner now 2nd in goals, 2nd in points and 4th in assists across the league. Making a pretty obvious case for the best forward in the league according to the stats.

I just like the logo change! Haha. Kane is playing great! Wont get the Hart though...cant be in last place in the central and win the Hart...in my opinion. And you guys know I'm a hawks fan.

Well, if he keep's lighting it up, it would be hard to deny him. Even 'The Great One' got it one year when his team sucked. It's an uphill battle no doubt but not totally impossible. If it wasn't for his slow start, he'd be ahead by a mile.

Bogosian, Dahlin, Risto all -3. Scandella -2 which makes sense because hes garbage, and yet he still plays over better dmen. The "3rd pair" McCabe and Pilut were both even on the night. Sabres top players got torched. And Botterill is still sitting on his hands

If Buffalo fans needed any proof that they have been pretenders (even during the win streak), this game was it.

Sell during the deadline, add to the assets you have.

That was obvious to us fans like 3 weeks ago when we lost to the Oilers 7-2. This team is spiraling fast

Skinner, Eichel looked good...Mittelstadt was playing with them for a minute and looked good together.

The team got 0 support from their front office after that win streak, didnt do anything to bolster the roster and havent sat the trash. Sobatka and Scandella should have been waived, they arent getting anything for them. Guhle and Nylander should be up. Pilut should not be sat. Beaulieu was on pace for a career season, and could have brought back something nice at the deadline but now his values gone, so again we can watch Scandella throw games away. It feels like an actually tank job. How are they going to keep Skinner around?

Couldn’t have said it better. The ROR trade is a disaster. It’s time to shoot Botterill into the sun.

It'd probably be pretty easy to deny him - no one has won the Hart and not been on the playoff teams since 1959 CORRECTION: 1988. He'd likely he nominated but winning wouldn't happen unless he was double digits ahead of the others, something unlikely to happen since Kucherov/McDavid/etc are all keeping pace. Kucherov actually had the highest PPG over a month in December at 2.15, edging Kane's 2.1.

Let's hope Kane gets the Art Ross trophy. Mario Lemieux, is the only player to win both the Art Ross and Hart without making the playoffs in 1987.

Oh, correction me then - I'd read the 1950s thing elsewhere. Though didn't Lemieux win in 1988, not 1987 ('87 was Gretzky year)? Either way, Lemieux was like 19 points ahead of Gretzky that season (thanks to Gretzky playing in 13 fewer games). The Pens didn't make the playoffs that year but they weren't bottom feeders of the league either - just average, mostly.

Though thinking about it, it'd be pretty neat if the last time someone won the Hart while not being in the playoffs was the same year Kane was born. I def would like him to win the Art Ross, it just seems like a tough think with Kucherov, McDavid, and many others just blazing right now and Kane having one of the weakest supporting casts in the league. He's the only top 10 player without at least one player on his team in at least the top 30 (though Toews is getting close) while many have at least 2 and a few have 3.

PS. I'm always amused when I reply to you or you to me because it looks like Hossa is waving at himself.
