The Wild starting a rebuild

Created by: MGrandalfFI64

Description
With Koivu and Dumba injured the rest of the season, the Wild should finally start to take a rebuild option seriously and make some noise in the trade market before the trade deadline. The trades I have made give Minnesota more draft pics and make the roster a little bit younger. After those trades there is also enough room to sign at least one free agent, for example RFA Kasperi Kapanen.

What do you think about my moves, are my trades realistic enough to make?

I like the Buffalo trade. Buffalo gets a RHD and 2nd line center. MIN gets a LHD and decent prospect. I think Buffalo wins that trade and gives the Sabres 2 players who would upgrade their current line up. Let's make a deal! cheers

Gonna say no to the Hayes deal. For one thing, they have three puck moving defensemen in Shattenkirk, Pionk and DeAngelo.

You might get a better deal by doing the following:

NYR gets: Coyle, Foligno and Brodin

MIN gets: Buchnevich, Namestnikov, Claesson and Letteri

Then:

BUF gets: Staal

MIN gets: Thompson

The Buf trade is bad trade for Minny.
-Beaulieu has no value for MN. He'd be another pressbox guy, and they would just let him walk after the season.
- Losing Belpedio; the only d-prospect that's close (year or so away) to NHL ready, a RD, waivers exempt, and cheap; would be a dumb move.
-I like the Coyle for Thompson aspect, but it's closer to a 1-for-1 swap (each fanbase will say the other side needs to add). MN takes the risk in Thompson and Buf gets the proven player as a rental+1 (and a good chance of re-signing imo).

The Jets trade looks like too much for Staal, but TDL prices who knows.

NYR trade doesn't really do much for the Rags unless they are looking to flip Spurgeon. Another short term 29/30 yo d-man isn't something they should be looking for.
