Team: 2018-19 Pittsburgh Penguins
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 10, 2019
Published: Feb. 10, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
The Penguins need to find a fast physical LW who can score.
These are the trade blocks they really have to work with.
It is possible they could add a 1st, but the player would have to come with term.
He would play on Malkins wing so he would need to be a N/S player.
Make an offer.

You realize that he's exactly the player you described though.

teaching reading skills in public schools must really be on the decline.

"The Penguins need to find a fast physical LW who can score."

fast..ok kind of, he's lost some of his wheels.
    physical. Nope not really.
    can score...tears of joy

    next.

Maybe Richard Panik in ARI? He would be cheap.

The obvious choices would be Ferland in Carolina, can't see them helping PIT since they wanna pass them to make the playoffs. Dzingel in Ottawa is another. If Parise's contract wasn't so long and expensive id suggest him. A long shot could be Anthony Mantha in Detroit. Maybe Jim Benning would be dumb enough to give you guys Josh Leivo.

yeah I don't think Carolina would make that trade at this point. Leivo would be interesting, especially as it's a low cap hit and he's an RFA at the end. Others have mentioned Virtanen. I highly doubt that though. They have had scouts at Van games. Dzingel would be a good fit if Ottawa wanted a pure player swap. I don't know. With there situation they may like the idea of getting pearson and Jugs. Maybe we could throw in JJ too lol. Good suggestions though

Panik from Arizona might be the best option as for value for performance goes. He would cost a mid draft pick and would be very good physical defensive presence and likely would be resigned for cheap as well.

There is no way they trade Hall or Virtanen. Hagelin can't score. Vatrano, Motte, Grimaldi are simply too small, and cogliano looks like the wheels are falling off.

They really need a player they can make a deal with the pieces they actually have to trade. It has to make sense for them to pull the trigger on it. Otherwise they are better off dumping cap space and realizing it's best not to reach this year as they will have a better chance next.

yeah I'm not sure he could fill a second line role though for a cup team. But given the rest of the options he might be one of the better fits.
This team remains 1 piece away at this point. They simply can't go into the playoffs with Simon and Pearson on the LW and expect to win.

How about Valeri Nichushkin from Dallas. Try to get him and Radek Faksa and Mattias Janmark.

Have you ever actually seen Hagelin play? From your response here I would say no, not at all, ever.

I don't think Dallas trades Radek, Nichushkin can't score. Mattias isn't really a 2nd line player. In all honesty, the type of player they need is few and far between at trade deadline.
