Considering zaitsev is a good defencemen that is about 1m overpaid at most... I don’t think that buffalo is helping us here lol. Take away the retained salary and drop the pick down a bit and it’s fair. But I don’t think they want or need zaitsev.

I like Risto but I don’t think it clears enough cap to be worth it. A decent ELC rather than Larsson would make the trade more worthwhile.

who do you like from Buffalo? What if Buffalo retained on Larsson to equal an ECL? TBH, I would not want to include Rodriguez, Thompson or Mittelstadt.

I know last year Nylander > Reinhart but not so much this year, so the rest of the trade is Ristolainen for Zaitsev; Brown & 2020 3rd which may be very fair, I would pass because Buffalo does not need Brown but needs a center. That is why I suggested the original trade to you. I have heard the Leafs are looking for toughness and if they traded Kadri, Larsson would replace that, while Ristolainen gives them the RHD that they were seeking. But you know your team better than I. I greatly appreciate your feed back, I know I still tend to over rate Buffalo players which is why I like reading comments from fans from other teams.
