What does Manson cost

Created by: Driedger18
Team: 2018-19 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 11, 2019
Published: Feb. 11, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
What’s the price for Toronto to pry Manson out of Anaheim? They are a team in ruin that want to get younger and more skilled and Toronto could use that physical right shot d man.

Toronto gives up a young skilled player in Johnsson, zaitsev is for cap reasons but also a valuable right shot d man they can keep and lindgren is a right shot d prospect with a small chance at the NHL.

Why is everyone trading Johnsson lately? The Leafs are deep on the right, not the left. If anyone were to be traded, Kapanen makes far more sense, as much as I am not in favour of it.

I don't see why Anaheim would trade Manson unless it was for a gross overpayment. He's their top RD and if they were going to move a RD it'd be Montour.

I think it’s because Kapanen has a higher ceiling and a truly dynamic skill in his speed. Also Johnsson is only 6 months older then Moore which I find interesting. I’m against moving Kapanen as well but need to give to get and just slide him over when Johnsson is moved

More then that, I'm thinking the discussion starts with one of Kapanen or Nylander and then goes from there.

Mango has proven that he deserves our patience with him. Let the kid develop, and again: he is a LW. Babs is stubborn, and difficult to convince to play guys on their off side. Mango is our best LW, so why would you move him when he is a late bloomer? If you give him the patience he has earned, maybe you get another Gourde, either way you get a scoring, hard-working LW who will be cheap during the crunch for the price of a 7th round pick in 2013. Mango is neigh untouchable due to his position.

The trouble is we need to move the same money out we bring in so as much as I like that deal we’d need to move some money

Kapanen then. The Jets aren't selling off centres, even though they have guys who would return them value, they would be offering other assets from positions of depth. The Leafs only top 6 LW in the entire system is Mango. They have lots of depth guys, but no top 6 talents. On the right, they have Marner, Nylander, Kapanen, and Bracco in the minors for top 6 players. If they Leafs move a winger, it will be from the right, unless they get another, better LW (and even then...)

A first a good nhl player and a prospect. Zaitsev is a downgrade with a big contract and Johnsson is a bottom 6 role player. Lindgren may be a a good piece, but Toronto doesnt have a first this year, that may be a negative - depending on how ANA scouts few these drafts

Those are really good numbers this year, hes only 22, and hes visibly progressing while Anahiem is visibly digressing

As a fan of both teams I've thought a lot about all of these players mentioned. For Manson, Nylander straight up is too much from Toronto (don't get me started on that horse**** about Pesce straight up) and Kapanen isn't enough. Kapanen plus a first would be okay for Montour; for Manson, a first plus probably Johnsson and Bracco or Liljegren (I'm giving a range here). With Anaheim's current cap situation, there's no chance Toronto can pass Zaitsev on to the Ducks (unless Nylander was coming with him, and why would Dubas do that?).
