Really bad for the Oilers. And it doesn't really make any sense for them to go for a rental as they're missing the playoffs. Could definitely see them going for Dzingel as a UFA if he's available.

Your trade would blow Winnipeg's balance. They don't need to be so aggressive. A trade to get a player like Brassard would be enough to them.

And why Oilers would bring a rental, if they probably won't get a playoff spot?

It sure sounds like Winnipeg is big game hunting, don't know if they want to settle on a Brassard. As for the Oilers, if they acquire Dzingle now, they can test him out next to Mcdavid to see if there is a potential long term fit there instead of gambling July 1st

The biggest problem is Laine. He's not giving 100% of his game. That's why their HC put him to play in 4th line, sometimes. It'd be nice to get a 2nd line C. But the most important is Laine play with more energy. That's the greatest boost Winnipeg can get. A top 6 LHD is more important to them.
